Received the Lighthouse Digest in the mail today. On page 38, Harbour Lights Collector's Corner, it says: "In January, we will be introducing exciting new pieces like Oak Island, North Carolina, Indian River Lifesaving Station, Delaware and Cape Flattery, Washington, with more new additions to follow. For our Anchor Bay collectors, watch for the arrival of the 175ft. Tender George Cobb, the ship that maintains vital harbor bouys along the West Coast." The article also says there will be 2 regional pieces this year. St Augustine which forums members had already discussed, but the other is the Lightship Relief, which I don't remember reading about(?) Melody

Melody,
Here's a link to a thread in the Rumour Forum about this subject.

Hey Melody - was there a story in there about the Outer Banks Lighthouse Society's celebration of the 200th Anniversary of light at Cape Hatteras? Maybe some photos by some unknown photographer? Just checking. My issue hasn't arrived yet.

Yes, John the story of "Celebrating 200 Years of Light at Cape Hatteras" is in the December issue of Lighthouse Digest! Also I believe there are five great photos by some photographer named John Chidester! I can't wait to see Cape Hatteras and the other lights on the Outer Banks in April! Keep up the good work! Thanks for the link Dennis. Now that I've re-read the posts there I do remember the Lightship discussion. A mind is a terrible thing to lose! :p And yes John, there is a great article along with equally great photographs right in the very middle of the magazine. Article and photographs all by some guy named John Chidester. Seems to know his stuff though Also 2 photos of the 'stone ring' ceremonies provided by Bruce Roberts.

Going to ask what is probably a couple of really stupid questions, but here goes: Why is Harbour Lights issuing another Oak Island? Doesn't their HL 240 issued in January, 2000 and retired in April 2000 count as the limited edition, or is what they're releasing in 2004 a GLOWs version? Thanks, Sandy

I believe the Oak Island is a GLOW and I think it will be lighted. Someone can probably confirm this.

It is a GLOW and it is going to be lighted!! It originally was supposed to be released in 2003 but was pushed back to a 2004 release...
