Oh great, this stuff is really bad for those of us with Asthma! I wish companies would stop pushing fragrances on everyone and stop trying to make people think that fragrances makes the air clean. It is just the opposite. It is a real air polluter. It is really bad for anyone to breathe in ozone, even worse for children.

I just read the description from the link provided by JC. Interesting concept but they're not for me. I'm not into strong smelling air freshners, perfumes, after-shaves, etc. They actually bother me. Maybe I'm allergic to them or something like that.

One of my pet peeves is someone sitting near you is a restaurant and all you can smell is a heavy scent of perfume. I literally cannot taste food when such a strong odor is present. I usually asked to be moved under those conditions. Thank God it doesn't happen often.

I guess I may be destined to be a "crotchety old buzzard" some day. If I'm paying big bucks for a wonderful dinner, I want to be able to enjoy it.

 Bob

Wait, that's made by HARBOUR LIGHTS?!!??!!?!? The past few days, I've been planning trips to Canada (I've run out of US destinations for trips I won't take until I'm 25), and I saw that on the right hand column. I thought it was one of those knickknack things that LHDepot sells. I did NOT expect it to be from Harbour Lights.

Harbour Lights makes static, odour-free lighthouses. It's bad enough they make them that light up - now they smell funny? I'm pinching myself, but this nightmare isn't over. eek

Well folks this item is just like all the rest of the different sort of items that HL is making. Something to produce additional revenues that will help allow HL to produce the lighthouses we enjoy. So we really shouldn't shoot the messenger but of course we're perfectly free to express our opinions on these items. (This one's not for me either.)

Spent a lot of money on air fresheners to mask the odor of cigarette smoke over the years. Stopped last December in anticipation of moving here. Probably would have decorated every nook and cranny with this item if I were still smoking, but no longer need air fresheners. My money is now spent on chewing gum--a cheaper alternative to Glade and Pall Malls. smile laugh

Don't know if anyone noticed, but there are several models of fresheners, including a Cape Hatteras and "Sentinel Light" in addition to the "Beach Light". They're all pretty ugly with the lantern-vent thing. :p (Closest I can come to "yick" face).

Question is....what kind of model number will these things get? Will it be a new line, and thus, numbering system? Or is it part of one of those other companies Y&A has under its "umbrella"?

... and the proportions of the things are all wrong. Cape Hatteras is tall and elegant not short and stumpy

Let's understand that this is a product developed by Younger & Associates exclusively for Lighthouse Depot.

The needs for the 'burner' for the scent is going to take precedence over the design accuracy of the particular lighthouse.

If it makes money for Lighthouse Depot and Younger & Associates, that's great.

It doesn't have an "HL Number" -- at least I don't think it does.

Well, let's look at it this way, people who are into this type thing are better off than breathing all of those chemicals like Air-Wick, Renuzit, etc., and it may bring in those who like nautical decor and don't care about factual actuals. On the other hand, it's not true Aromatherapy as that is based on heat dispersing plant oils which have some health/medical benefit, unlike breathing chemicals or burning the actual oils which can make them unhealthy when direct fire (in lieu of heat via indirect contact with the flame) come into contact and alter the molecular structure turning something that at best, "heals and soothes" and at least, covers smells into something that can and will cause health consequences.

Not for me neither...either.
