Wow, am I excited!!! I have been after Harbour Lights since 1997, at the San Diego Reunion, to make this lighthouse. I can hardly wait for them to ship to Marvel Home Decorating in New London, CT (where I get my auto-ship). From the image on the Harbour Lights site it looks great.

Paul, do you have any closeup shots that you can share with us???

THANK YOU HARBOUR LIGHTS!!!

Ron, I posted a while back that a couple of Forum members would be real happy with a couple of the new releases and you were one of them I was referring to.. I know how long you have wanted New London to be done...

I haven't shot any closeups yet of any of them since I have been gone becoming a grandpa again, but I will try to shoot some tomorrow of New London and post them in this thread.. I have to go back to work on Wednesday so tomorrow will be busy mowing etc.

Nice detail on the New London Harbor piece.

I also like the Hospital Point piece, it's becoming a close second(without the airplane).

Great images Paul, Thank you. They have done a wonderful job with this lighthouse. They even included the sun dial in the center window of the second story, south side.

Thanks so much for taking the time to work your magic with detail shots of this Paul.

I am still on vacation in Down East Maine and cannot wait to receive this piece as soon as it arrives in New London, CT.

Very impressive photography, Paul! New London Harbor looks like a "keeper". It will be a wonderful addition to any HL Collector's display.

Harbour Lights has done an excellent job with HL-352 and I thought that some of you might like to see actual images of the New London Harbor lighthouse so you may see what I’m talking about.

This first image is from the water of the Thames River looking at the east side of the station.

A closer view of the east side shows two doorways. The left door once opened into a covered walkway between the house and the tower.

Here is a closer view of the left doorway which reveals the concrete and rocks where the covered walkway once was. The vines on the doorway are a good indication that it has been quite some time since the door was opened.

View from the small beach area looking north at the south side of the tower on a foggy day. The Thames River would be to your right.

This south side view gives an indication of the vegetation growing on and around the enclosed porch. Note the skylights which Harbour Lights has included in their rendition.

A closer view of the south side of the house reveals the dormers and the middle window on the second floor, bricked up and sporting a sundial.

A close-up of this window with the sundial also reveals the words “TIME IS A SHIP THAT NEVER ANCHORS”. I expect the vines to cover this window soon.

A view from the driveway.

I will continue posting more images directly following this post.

Another view from the driveway on a December evening with no foliage.

This image shows the west side of the station.

A closer view of the west side with the arched window and foliage, which Harbour Lights captured in HL-352

Continuing around to the north side where Jeremy D’Entremont, American Lighthouse Foundation Historian and author, is rounding the corner after climbing the tower.

During NELL’s visit to New London Harbor lighthouse, in October of 2006, Tom Pregman (NELL President) and Judy Hall (NELL Treasurer) chat with property owner and resident, Alice Dimock, through one of the doorways on the east side of the house.

Finally, yours truly at the door to the tower.

Again, I would like to thank Harbour Lights for producing the New London Harbor (Pequot) lighthouse piece. Very nice job Harry.

Thanks for sharing your talents.

P.S. Another benefit of NELL membership - gaining access to an otherwise 'closed to the public' lighthouse!

Thanks for the great photos and tour. I have seen New London Harbor and New London Ledge lights many times when my son, Bill, was in the Navy stationed at the Submarine Base in Groton.

I'm looking forward to placing New London Harbor next to New London Ledge in my curio cabinet.

Thank you for the wonderful pictures.
Rons pictures of the actual lighthouse makes the HL piece even more desirable for those of us who have not seen the lighthouse.

Thank you all.

Bill, I hope that you also have Avery Point lighthouse to put next to New London Ledge and New London Harbor. The three lights are known as the Three Sisters of the Thames and greet all who visit the waters where the Thames River meets Long Island Sound & Fishers Island Sound.

Many submarines, the Coast Guard Barque Eagle, and vessels of all types pass these lights on a regular basis.

Thanks for the lovely tour of a lighthouse we sadly are not likely to see for real.

I just bought my New London Harbor piece today and was delighted to come across the Harbor Lights web site. I have made a pilgrimage to this lighthouse since my 4th great grandfather was a New London sea captain who sailed his vessels past the original tower, which was previously built on this site in 1761. His son, a seaman, sailed past the second New London Harbor Lighthouse, which was built in 1801.
