I got home today to find that the UPS guy (Buster Brown) had dropped off a box with my Whitefish Point and La Martre. The Whitefish was worth waiting for ! and was immediately promoted to the front of the curio. and the La Martre is also a real gem too.
Now I'll just need to get Two Harbors, MN. on to the drawing board now.

I too received Whitefish Point yesterday and after seeing it in person, I will go as far as to say it is one of the finest Harbour Lights they have created. It is my new favorite (for the time being anyway)

It is just an awesome looking piece.

I was at my dealer a week ago and he didn't have any of the latest HL's for me. Hopefully, he'll receive a shipment soon. I think I'm about six behind the rest of you guys.

I'm especially looking forward to getting Whitefish Point. The pictures make it look like a real winner!

Having just spent two days there...a couple of weeks ago, I'm really looking forward to getting it. 'Glad to hear such nice comments from those who have just received it.

There's been personnel changes at my dealer. I never received my regular phone call that my pieces arrived. Although I saw Whitefish Point at Rosemont, It looks better in my curio cabinet. I will be making the trek up to Whitefish Point on November 10th to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the sinking of Big Fitz. I will take my HL with me hoping to get Bertha Endress Rollo to sign it. Bertha lived there with her grandparents, mother & brother form 1910 to 1931. Bertha's grandpa was Keeper Robert Carlson for 28 years.

Here is something that should interest everyone. http://www.shipwreckmuseum.org/
My wife Joan also gets Hometown cooking magazine by Better Homes & Garden. October issue has Whitefish Point as one of the features. http://www.bhg.com/hometowncooking/octcook/finnishbread.html

Went to see Whitefish Point on Friday in MN. at my dealer. This a great piece! The long wait is over and HL's has hit a home run. Jim, have YOU made the bread yet? If yes, how was it?

That's one of the perks of working two jobs.
My wife is a full time homemaker and stay at home mom. Besides playing piano and quilting, she is an excellent baker. She baked the bread and it was good, but no match for her honeyoat wheat bread, still her best, warm out of the oven smothered with real butter. I told her we'll have to have one of those Whitefish Point meals with the Harbour Lights model as the centerpiece at the dinner table. My kids think Dads a little nuts and they wonder when Harbour Lights will sculpt a McDonald's.

Hey Jim, ...Lionel Trains has two McDonald's fast food emporiums available: modern style or the original style. Order one and make your kids even happier during their next happy meal.

Visited Whitefish on last Friday, purchased the H.L. on Sunday. Worth the wait. Everything I expected it to be. After seeing it at Rosemont I really couldn't wait to get my hands on it. This is the first lighthouse I ever visited fifteen years ago, and have wanted to see an H.L. since I started collecting. I'm happy to see it in my curio!

This was another one I was not going to get but when I saw it at Rosemont I changed my mind. Lots of dodads on this one too, even flying curtains but I can't quite figure out why that shovel is in the bush? Now the C of A for this one has so much info the print is so tiny you can hardly read it! A very well done piece.

On Saturday morning I'll be picking up my "Whitefish Point".....then when I get back home I'm putting it right next to the 30" model of the "Fitz" that I purchased when I was in Michigan last month. The scales of both are alittle out of sinc but I'm sure they'll look good together.

This past Tuesday I was at the Great Lakes Shipwreck museum on the Whitefish Point grounds and also at a lighthouse specialty shop in St. Ignace. Sadly, none of the dealers in that area has received their WhiteFish models.

For those interested there will be a special 25 year anniversary ceremony at the Whitefish Point lighthouse this November 10. Plans are to ring the Edmund Fitzgerald's bell with family of crew members in attendance.

Well, I picked up my Whitefish Point piece, yesterday and all I can say is "WOW"!! It really is a beautifully detailed LE and is well worth the wait for those who haven't gotten theirs yet. I also picked up Ft. Gratiot and while there has been some critism concerning its size....which I agree...it was also nicely done.

Well Whitefish finally arrived at my house today, 1/4/01. It's a little smaller than I thought it would be. I would give it a 5 out of 5. It certainly is a very interesting piece that was well worth waiting for. Great job, Harbour Lights! Keep up the great work!
