Can we confirm that the standing orders for the fresnel were starting to ship last Saturday? If so, they should start showing up at dealers late this week! It should be interesting as reports come in.
Patiently waiting,
Dave

The standing orders for the Fresnel and Sister Island began shipping Saturday and should be completed by the end of this week.

Pardon me if I don't get too excited yet. I am still on a high about being able to get a reservation for Baltimore in 2001, but I'm still waiting for six of the latest HL's to be shipped to my dealer. If the six HLs are late coming in then the even newer pieces will probably be even later. So be it! I will get them eventually.

I hope everyone will share their thoughts about their new HLs when they arrive.

Bob

P.S. I wish the 10th anniversary piece was the Fresnel Lens.

I agree Joanne, I'm much more fond of it than Eddystone...I'm even thinking of buying the expensive full-lead crystal version from LH Depot...both will look awesome placed among my collection.

Now I have to dig through my Rosemont bag and find the information I wrote down regarding the battery operated turn table that the lens was sitting on. I believe it was a company in Pennsylvania.

Jim, someone posted that information right after Rosemont for both the turntable and the small spotlights. Did a search, but couldn't find it. Perhaps it's in the thread that John turned off.

I think you might be able to locate one of those turn tables thru a collectibles dealer, I had asked my dealer a while back and he was able to get a model in black plastic but I am looking for one that has a real wood outer body, HL had one (wood) in there display a couple years ago but I didn't get a name off of it, so if anyone should run across the wood covered model please let me know too.

My dealer, whom a lot of you already know, John Wisnewski (baytreas)of Bayside Treasures has the turntables that are produced by Bard's Products, Inc. The turntable that Harbour Lights used at Rosemont was made by Bards. John said that he would post pictures, descriptions and prices of a couple of them, that are available, on his website tomorrow.

Thanks Paul for the link to Bayside Treasures. I have enjoyed looking at their website. Also, I look forward to seeing John's post tomorrow regarding the turntable. Like so many others, I am anxiously awaiting my lens and now, I believe the turntable will be a perfect addition to it.

Is the lens in the mail? I just received a postcard from my dealer stating that the Harbour Lights 5th Order Lens is currently on backorder. The expected shipping date is 11/30/2000.I hope the lens is worth this lenghtly wait.

I think all of us who have seen the lens at Rosemont (or elsewhere) can agree. The Lens is worth the wait!

Hey Sean, ... You are a man of many words but I didn't read any in your last post just above this one. I only see one punctuation mark as the body of your message.

Bob

P.S. - Bring on the lens, I'm ready!

Bob... the reason you only see a punctuation in Sean's post is because we no longer have the capability of deleting our own post. If I may, Sean deletes his post, but since that is not possible at this time, he edited his post by what you see. Sean... correct me if I'm wrong here.

Turbo... your dealer must be one in Maine? If so, I got the same card from them. Hopefully they are incorrect with the ship date, and will receive the lense must sooner. I hope, I hope, I hope!!!

The moving picture is a .gif image file and is posted just like any other image file. Check the Forum Goodies in the Forum About These Forums or the Newbie Jumpgate in the Welcome Forum for pointers to info on how to post image files. You can experiment in The Play Room.

Animated .gifs are built up of individual 'still' frames. Using your browser's Search button, do a search on the words 'animated gif'. You'll find lots of sites with these moving pictures for sale or free download. For example: Animation Factory . Learn more at this site.

I saw my HL dealer on Saturday and she told me she received the invoice for Lens and it should be in the store this week! She also said she wished it was a bigger edition size because she could have sold 12, if not more, due to all the requests she's received.

Joanne

p.s. Wonder when the first will appear on ebay?

HALLELUJAH!!! At long last I received a call from my dealer today. They received both the Fresnel and Sister and are on their way to me. I am really looking forward to seeing these pieces within a few days.

Tim - No longer Fresnel challenged!

I have clicked onto the site for Bayside Treasures, as given on this thread; and though I scrolled through all their product lines, I did not see any display bases as described here for the Fresnel lens. Has anyone else had success in finding one? I have tried a few collectible stores and had no success.

Who was going to put a photo of the display base on this thread ---- was it someone named John at that store; or is it "our" Saint John? I think it would be interesting to see the base, if someone does have a picture from Rosemont.

The lens has not made it into the stores in NH yet. Two of them were "charter stores" when HL first started up, so shipping must be on a regional basis starting in the West; and not by which stores were original HL dealers.

John W. has been real busy packing and shipping my Fresnel lens and Sister Island lighthouse, plus other things. I will call him today and remind him to put something on his site about the turntables. I volunteered him to do this before I talked to him about it.

LOL Paul... I'm sure John will not mind. I'm looking forward to seeing this turntable, and hope it will be a great addition to showing off a piece! If you happen to see it on John's website, let us know so we can all view it. Again, thanks!

Since we've got two parallel threads going on the Fresnel, I'm referring people to:
http://www.lighthousekeepers.com/forums/Forum19/HTML/000258.html

And closing this one.
