Since no one else want to crow about it yet, I'll be the first...I like it and plan on getting one but I am very disappointed that it is prob a blinker...I would have much preferred it as a solid acrylic piece like the 1st and most popular lens HL produced, the 5th Order...

I am anxious to see this piece as it does look very cool. Of all the lenses, I have to agree that the first one is also my favorite. I don't light up any of the products that have the capability, and I would be fine with them not having this capability.

I was looking through old posts about Oregon Lights (very informative) and found this post by Wacko Paul about his look at the Umpqua Lens

Thanks for this post Laura. I had not seen Paul's 2002 post before, and enjoyed his photos, as always.

When I saw this part of the post...
Quote:
The following double top secret image will show you the red glass panels and how they are attached in front of the Fresnel lens... I was allowed this special look for pictures, that isn't on the normal tour, just to capture this look for the forums and Harbour Lights...
...I thought this visit to Umpqua might have something to do with the lens being made.
I will get to see the lighthouse shortly, but as its off season probably won't get inside.

They just let me up higher to shoot the panels than the normal tour, because the tour guide was the husband of a person who worked at a store that carried Harbour Lights in the area.. No agenda as far as images for the replica...
