FYI, found this on the Bronze Lady's site tonight. I am not impressed at all with the free gift this year. My wife likes the Members only piece, and it's one that could grow on me. http://www.bronzelady.com/HarbourLights/Members.htm All in all, in my mind this has been a down year for my collecting. I know others have enjoyed the latest releases, but I haven't been too impressed with any of the new releases so far. Guess I'm a little finicky. Hope things get better with the mid year releases.

Those at the NJ Regional event got to see these pieces in person. I think they are both very nicely done. The Hatteras Beacon is a neat little tower, not as beautiful as some others, but a part of history. The Roanoke River piece is very detailed and will be a nice addition.

I know what you mean, Naders, I can't seem to get excited about any of them either...my collection has been put on the back burner mainly because HL really let us California collectors down with a big thud when they created three of our most beloved lights (Pt. Bonita, East Brother, Pt. Reyes) as open-edition giftware. Between this and finding gift shops everywhere flooded with GLOWs and LLOMs, my LE collection no longer feels so unique and special to me. And now they're making their LE footprints way too big again...I don't know about you but I prefer to spend my money on lighthouses, not curio cabinets...very bummed collector here...

I have to agree with you Rock on the LLOM. I was really disapointed to see that. I hope making East Brothers, Point Reyes and Point Bonita and Point Vecente as LLOMs means they will be LE's soon. I have heard it will be a long long time before we see Pt. Vicente as an LE if at all. With all of the east coast lights being made this year I have been able to fill some holes in my collection with my budget instead of buying new releases. Sure hope we see some California lights this year.

Well I don't know about the rest of you but I received my membership kit on Thursday, May 9 and phoned in my order for Roanoke River, NC...the Hatteras Beacon gift light is really neat, the best gift piece so far (IMO)...low number too (#117).

I am anxiously awaiting my kit - I just joined early last month - for two years - and I like the NC lights. I am trying not to be impatient...

Don't worry- there are plenty of us East Coasters who lobby for California lights. I'm happy they waited on some pieces like East Brother. Imagine how much better the detail will be than if it had been made five years ago. I know the first Hatteras is worth a fortune, but frankly I think every succeeding open edition model is better looking.

Yes, I was reminded of that, too, when I got my LE Bolivar, Texas lighthouse after the GLOW version. The GLOW blows the LE away. I, too, like the revised Hatteras GLOW - and the 'on the move' version, too.
Okay, your detail level is up to par - now you guys can go ahead and make a Sand Island, AL light...

I too would like a few Ca.lights but you must consider there are many east coast and great lakes lights to be done and many collectors on the east coast and as said in this forum waiting makes them better with the new technology personally I have enjoyed this years issues.Bill O'Brien

Even though I would also like to see more California lights, I agree with Bill that there are a lot of other lights to be done. Even though the Hatteras Beacon is nice, I think Hatteras has had too much attention from HL.

Cape Hatteras has received a lot of attention from Harbour Lights. I wonder how many Cape Hatteras models are sold within the general area of the Outer Banks. Lots of tourists travel through that area. Bob

I know it was put in the rumor mill. I talked to the west coast rep during a store event with Bill recently and he said Battery Point, CA should be out in July or August. I hope this will relieve some of the anxiety. It does for me- A little bit. There still needs to be more west coast lights!

Wondering when we'll be seeing the Roanoke River piece? According to my records I picked up last year's society piece on June 7th. This year's is taking a bit longer to arrive.

I called HL on Friday asking about this since I hadn't heard from my dealer. I had placed my order on-line and wanted to make sure that they had it. I was told they would begin shipping the end of this week.

Remember that while the Society Gift piece is mailed to YOU, the Society Exclusive is shipped to the dealer you chose and you will pay the dealer directly.
