Does anyone know if you can get close to Fairport Harbor West Breakwater to get a picture. Can you walk the breakwater. Thanks

With a little bit of lens you can get a decent shot from a park along the shore. (The one with the gigantic basket.)

I have pictures somewhere, Fran, but they are pre-digital (so would have to actually find the book they are in and then scan them...) So, in the interest of expediency, here\'s a pic .

If you walk the Headlands State Park Beach for about 1/2 mile east of the parking lot (located west of downtown, and the main lighthouse) you can walk right up to the beginning of the breakwater. I wouldn't really try walking the wall much though, it's kinda dangerous.

It\'s tiny compared to this one just 120 miles south of Lorain.

(Must be something about Ohio that grows them baskets big!)

I think that was with a Sigma EX APO 70-200mm f/2.8 HSM zoom. You are fairly close to the light at the beginning of the breakwater, and it doesn't really take a long zoom to shoot.

I've walked all the way to the end. The water was much calmer than in Ron's photograph.
