I may be in Jacksonville, FL for a business trip in Jan. and was wondering how close the Georgia lighthouses are and if any are easy to get to (no boat needed). Has anyone visited these lately?

I just did a search and seemed to find many of the answers I was looking for in previous threads. This trip may work out after all.

Carol,

From Jax it is a vrey easy trip up the road to St. Simons and on up the rod to Cockspur and Tybee. We can even hook you up with an airplane to fly out over Cumberland Island. Don't forget Amelia Island while you are in the area, as well as the 2 on Mayport.

Thanks Dave,
I've been to Amelia and was fortunate enough to climb the tower. I have seen Mayport (the one by the fence) but not the other one. I had Military connections on a past trip but then my flight was delayed and I never made it on to the base.
Send me the plane info by e-mail and I'll see if I can squeeze it in. Sounds like fun! Thanks!
