The wife and I (and possibly my neice too) are planning a trip to Anaheim early January. The main purpose is a lacrosse game, the second is Disneyland. My wife has given me one day for lighthousing. But from what I have read, most of the lights in that area are not open to the general public, except for certain Saturdays. Sadly, my day is a Monday.
Any suggestions or should I just plan something else for my day?

I think you should still go to Point Fermin and Point Vincente you can get a distant view of Los Angeles Harbor from here or take a Harbor Cruise.
You can go over to long Beach see the Queen Mary and the Submarine there and have a meal at Parker's Lighthouse Restaurant- and get a photo of it from the Queen Mary.
There's also the Lions Lighthouse For Sight in the area also- and a very distant view of Long Beach Harbor Lighthouse.
Hey- it's not like getting in but it's still Lighthousing.
Here's a number to call to try and set up some type of tour. It can't hurt to try.
For information or to schedule a group tour call (310) 541-0334.
