While in Ct in 2002 we went to Southington Light and from there you can see a caison light about 1 mile to the west. I would just like the name of that light since I do have some distant pictures but don't know its name. Hank

Hi Hank, I think that Latimer Reef is the closest light to the Stonington Lighthouse that fits your description. See http://www.lighthousefriends.com/light.asp?ID=739 for a photo. Is this the right one?

If it was Stonington that you visited and you saw a caison in the distance from the parking lot, it was Latimer Reef, NY

Thanks Larry and Shirin. It was Stonington and that looks like the light. My fingers were going in one direction and my mind in the other when I typed the original request.
