Marquette should make an awsome Christmas piece. Looking forward to Little Sable as well. Hasn't Cape Neddick been done as an L.E.already? I assume this is another re-make. Mike

Cape Neddick, ME? I didn't realize we had a "remake" of that ever so popular light coming. Sounds like maybe it could have possibly been a favor to the Lighthouse Depot? How many will be made? Bob

You folks are correct. Cape Neddick was originally produced as a LE, Issue #141, back in 1996, I believe. It was also released as a GLOW. Oh well.....

Confirmation has been made on the above list. The only additional LE at this time that I was able to confirm is the remainder of the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal pieces from the Door County walk. It is a LE of 2000.

Well, in relation to the Cape Neddick Light....they did "re"-release Portland as well...I think it was done before....But they changed it up with the snow and all...

I'm saddened not to see New London Harbor, site of the fourth Light Station in the country. Maybe they are still trying to perfect the see-through acrylic water of the Thames river with the first nuclear submarine passing by this octagonal white tower. Oh well.

I think you right Ron! In addition, they're working on Huntington Harbor and Eatons Neck with some other new innovations. I predict next March 2006 for all 3. Bob

Got my LHD yesterday. Being space challenged, I like the small size of Price's Creek. I wasn't sure I was going to get it if it was too big.
Another thing I noticed was the price of the Cape Charles VA. Now, this piece is basically the same size and design as the Hillsboro Inlet FL. piece, but $45.00 cheaper. Was Hillsboro overpriced because it was a Florida light and they could, or have manufacturing cost just come down that much. I suspect it's a little of both.

OK, now that's the cat is out of the bag, so to speak, how about some images to see what these new pieces are like (besides the Cape Charles and Price's Creek which are on the back of the latest Lighthouse Digest).
Anybody see any of the others?

Why would a LE of Cape Neddick be done again?! Judy

Why would a LE of Cape Neddick be done again? Could be one of several reasons: 1. Favor to one of their largest HL Dealers, the Lighthouse Depot; 2. A chance to add a totally different type of Cape Neddick to their offerings. 3. A chance to see if collectors will actually accept this version with the fake wood base and translucent water, which would open the door for similar pieces in the future. 4. Every year or so Harbour Lights comes out with something that people wrinkle their noses over and consider the piece a "dog" or a "white elephant" that doesn't fit into the regular collector's scheme of things. Could this be the one for 2005? 5. Add your own thoughts here: __________ Bob

I still think that it will be one to see in person prior to buying. I'm not too hot on the wood base, but I'm less turned off by the water, which I hear isn't as obnoxious as it appears.
Another reason to add is that younger/newer collector's like myself are interested in some of the more famous lights that have been retired already. This gives me a chance to pick up a nice new fresh one, and still seek out an older version as well!

My opinion only -- any newer member looking to pick up an older retired piece should save their money for the older piece and not waste it on something as obnoxious as this piece appears to be.

RE: New cape Neddick, ME HL329 . . .and not waste it on something as obnoxious as this piece appears to be. You can say that again. With the color of the water (or should I say transparent) and the wooden base, this pieces is exactly that; obnoxiousEnough said. I WON'T buy it!

I probably won't buy it either. I'm sure it might look better in person than online but for those of us having the original LE, that will suffice when we are running out of room to display these pieces. Judy

With so....many other lighthouse request being made why a re-make? Maine has so many other lights as do many other states that would be welcome additions to die hard collectors. Space for me is becoming a problem, one I won't have to worry about creating space for is this "Joke". In HL's defense, the Christmas piece is more in keeping with the Holidays than last year's. Bodie was a bust.

I still obviously haven't ween the new Cape Neddick "in person" but the way the originals are dropping on E-Bay like flies after a Carolina pig pickin', is it that they're all making room for the new one, or that the old one is that ugly? Sorry, purists, I still can't compare the early one's to the new one's in attractability.

I agree with Steve as to the attractability of the new replicas compared to the original ones. We were laughing at Grosse Point the other day but it is our first tower we climbed and our second HL so for sentimental reasons we'll probably never part with it!! Also the earlier ones started our lighthouse craze so they are here to stay! I just can't think of parting with any of my HL;I am maxed out of space but still buying them. Is there a Harbour Lights Anonymous? Judy

Well, I didn't see what it went for, but the Sturgeon Point Ship Canal, whatever, blah, blah ( ) was on E-Bay and only had one bid as of this morning; it started at $39.99(?). Steve

That was an example of a piece that looked better in person than on the web, but still didn't do alot for me. I think the attraction there was the one's who live in that area and/or collect Door County pieces, or the 2,000 piece size cutoff.

We had just been there and walked out on the pier so it was nice having a replica. It is a nice looking piece but then, we like the many different types of lights. It lends variety to the collection. Judy
