Last year we got the news about the Regional and In Store event pieces by mid-February.
Think we'll hear about this years around the same time?
Any guesses as to what they might be and how they fit into the Grand Tour?
My guess is a Pottawatomie, WI LE and West Rigolets, LA LE.

This is what I am hoping for.
1. Another St Augustine lighthouse festival event with special dinner or get-together the night before. I would like to have the event with Bill, Harry and Tony 2. The Bronze Lady store event in Orlando and it should be a month or so after the St Augustine Event. Two separate events in one weekend are too much for us to go to both. This is also not fair to the bronze lady who probably looses many customers to the St Aug event. 3. Another Tybee store event. 4. A regional in the South- Somewhere in Florida, Georgia or South Carolina. New Orleans maybe to far but will try real hard to go if that is where it is.
Also I am just as happy to have the Events with Harry if Bill isn't avalible.

Well that seems to take care of you Daniel? There is no harm in wishing is there? New Orleans is to far for you? I realize I am a lot closer than many of you Northerners but 537 miles is still a long trip. As I already stated I will try. I appreciate you asking. If I go I will let you know.

There will be an event at St. Augustine. I don't know the details. I was there last Friday looking at a 3rd order that was damaged by Katrina (hoping it belongs to Cape St. George, but it is a long shot). A little birdy told me so.

Glad you asked, Christopher. I went to one years ago and wondered why they are always at this location? Judy

First of all this is a store event not a regional. Many of large dealers like Bronze Lady have a store event every year. So this is nothing Unusual. What is different with the St Augustine store event from the other store events is that there is a Festival going on at the lighthouse with an attendance of over 7,000. This is a great marketing stagey that HL has been utilizing since 2002 except for one year and that was the year HL was sold.
Because of the atmosphere of the festival, Free Lighthouse tours, pony rides for the kids, free sodas and snacks, and more that is offered by St Augustine; this store event gets more attendance than most store events. Since there is more of a crowd the signing event is usually three hours instead of the two. When we are lucky the St Augustine Lighthouse Museum have in the past negotiated with HL something on Friday nights. This is not free and requires tickets that run around $20 a person.

Folks, you have totally hijacked Loon's thread asking about guesses for what the regional and in store event PIECES would be.
If you want to hold a discussion as to where you feel events should be, or why there are always events at certain locations, take that discussion to a new thread in the events for collectors forum.

I apologize Dave. It looks like I started this confusion. Somehow I didn’t see the Event “PIECES” and thought Lighthouse Loon was asking which Store and regional events "places" we thought were going to happen. I think I need glasses.

[/b] That's ok Dave, I figured the thread would get straighted out eventually. It's been kind of amusing reading all about the yearly St. Augustine events. Maybe I should have used "editions" instead of "pieces" to be less confusing.

To answer the real question. Which lighthouses shall be event PIECES . My guess is that the regional event will be a Louisiana Light. Like either Sabine Pass or South Pass I think these two are the neatest lights in LA and would make an awesome Event “Piece” It is also possible that a now and then would be done for New Canal.

Well, we have been promoting Sabine Pass for a while since it's considered either a LA or TX light. Since TX is supposed to get one this year, it's possible it will be Sabine Pass. However, I have been rooting for Matagorda as an LE for a while; its peppermill shape is unique!

Both Texas and Louisiana are due for a release, so theirs two chances for Sabine Pass this year.

Sabrine Pass would be great.
Volusia Bar could be a gone but not forgotten(Well the legs are still there).

Would a "Now" of New Canal just be an empty box? You are right Eric. I guess there is nothing there now. I was thinking of the after Hurricane look, where it was still there.

I've said it before and I will say it again. It would make my year to get a Sabine Light made into a Harbour Light.

Bill I agree that the Sabine would be a great limited edition. I think this post is also showing that this light is popular with our forum collectors.

Finally got my copy of the Musings to download. Both pieces look great, but I think I'm going to like the Loon Island one a little bit more then the Sapelo.
