Interesting, subjective to LHs reviewed by owners, biased so far to NE, and leaves out some BIGGIES initially. Should be fun to watch if it's kept up and expanded to include most LHs. One Man's(Groups')Opinion "The Web Site that Rates America's Greatest Beacons" but should be a fun site if maintained.

I think it has great potential as a guide for people to visit Lighthouses by.
He (or she) explains the rating system in detail. I agree that many Lights have been left out, but this also is addressed in the Ratings explanation.
There was not time to put all of them up yet. If it continues it will be helpful.
It definitely is an improvment over many sites that have only a picture and a couple of lines describing the Lighthouse in very little detail.
It's almost as good as those Long Island Lighthouse sites.

Being the engineer that I am, I like the attempt to quantify and compare various LHs with some sort of criteria. Keep up the good work. Will be keeping an eye on this website to see how it develops. Dan

Interesting! Not your average lighthouse website. Will look forward to further additions.

Sorry, but I think it needs a lot of work, since most of the links don't work...

I like the idea of sytematically rating lighthouses. The same idea hit me this summer on a lighthousing trip to Lake Superior and Lake Michigan. I hope the web site continues to develop because it needs lots of work but has good potential.

I do like the idea of the site. I also think it might be a little biased towards New England lights. I suppose if it were my site though, I'd be biased towards the Great Lakes lights. In the link to Big Sable, it says it's surrounded by 10+ feet dunes. Maybe things have changed since last Labor Day, but the dunes were slightly larger than 10+ feet. More like 10++++++++++ feet. Anyway, I do look forward to seeing more lights added.

I found this very interesting. Being the engineer that I am, I too developed my own rating system last year just for my personal enjoyment. It also has seven catagories, each with 5 points. My catagories are: Accessability Architecture Completeness (of light station) Scenic Attractiveness Tower and Lantern Visitation (open for visits; climbing) Overall Experience
Different words but many overlaps with the intent of your rating system. With about 125 lighthouses rated in my system, the top three are: Ponce de Leon, St. Augustine and Heceta Head.
It's nice to know that there are others out there who do things analytically.
