The sub-moronic idiots we call Congress in a display of the sheer stupidity with which they tend to act, decided that we would observe a new and improved DST. Start earlier in the spring, end later in the fall. They did this in the name of saving energy. I have read a number of articles that concluded that the amount of energy expended to re-set all the automatic devices more than compensated for the meager savings that would be realized. And, of course, there are the multitude of VCRs and such that used to automatically reset when there was a standard, pre-set, good for a century plan as to when to change. Now if I want to tape anything in the few weeks in the new & improved DST period, I have to go in and set the blasted clocks back to the correct time, and then re-set them yet again when the idiots decided we should now observe DST.

And Congress wonders why they have a one digit approval rating. Add this to the list (a list that is now larger than most kids Christmas lists).

DST sucks, always has and always will. It is a massive con job run on the public. Scary thing is that some people actually think there is more daylight, they are just too stupid to realize that it is just an arbitrary and creative re-setting of clocks.

I am behind Dave on this one... Moving from AZ (no dst) to FL, has proven to me that it is a useless gov't program.

What I don't like is the clock changing part. Either leave it regular time, or DST all year round.

My granddaughter has a built-in alarm clock. She usually gets up at 5:30 am, 6:00 at the latest. This morning it was 4:30 am, she does not understand that she was suppost to sleep an hour longer.

Don't fret, Cyndi. I would venture a guess that there were many, many people with the same problem as your granddaughter this morning. Of course, now that the stupidity of DST has been made a moving target it is probably worse than normal.

Stan, if they were going to make DST year round they might as well just figure out a way to change every ones' time zones - Eastern to Atlantic (-5 to -4), Central to Eastern (-6 to -5) and so on . . .

Dave,

Why don't you quit beating around the bush. Just come right out and say what you mean. We all want to fully understand exactly how you feel.

Just kidding, my friend.
