Here we go again. A little twist thrown at you this time. We have moved from the land to the sea "In the Path of a Storm". Back to a time when the Proud Lightships and their brave crews provided safe passage through treacherous seas. Acrylic on canvas, 16"x20".

Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

Digger you are amazing how you can put out so many great pictures in what seems no time at all.as great as this piece is you have one mistake. There never was a portsmouth light ship station. The portsmouth lightship was given that name after her retirement for PR only.I do suppose you do qualify for a bit of artistic licence as all great artists. Bill O'Brien oseabe another one was new bedford which was renamed after retirement.

Great depiction of the Portsmouth their Digger! I see she has weighed anchor and is ready to ride out the storm. Memories are brought back to mind as the crew below are securing all missle hazards. I can almost hear the pipe over the ship's 1MC now... "Now attention all hands, stand by for heavy rolls." Tim - Keeping the flame lit...

Just curious Digger.......
What exactly do you do with your talent/gift? Do you paint full time or on request?
My paint by numbers never came out like that. Great work!

Very nice, Digger!! You really do know how to capture the "moment"!! What is your next piece going to be? The only reason that I ask is that I'm beginning to look as forward (with anticipation) to "whats next" as I am with HL's releases.

You know Digger every time I check the forms I have to take another look at this one.takes me back to the days at sea when I got a big kick out of going up on the flying bridge in a storm to feel the wind and rain in my face and watch the bow crashing down into the seas. Bill O'Brien oseabee

First I'd like to thank Steve and his wife, Becky, for having us over Sunday evening. They are both wonderful people. We were lucky enough to see all the paintings that Digger has posted on the forums. The colors are much more brilliant! John, the red on this one can only be described as MOMBO RED! The white on the lightship seems to just glow. The photo doesn't really show the true colors of the sky. The 3-D effect is amazing. Digger held the the Thomas Point painting under the light for us to see better and the lighthouse just jumped out at ya. The pictures here on the forums are wow, but the actual paintings are WOW!!! Well, I can go on all day about his paintings. Steve you have an amazing talent, and you are really an amazing guy. Thanks again for having us over, it was a pleasure.

Cheryl... are you trying to say that Steve is another "painter of light" as Thomas Kinkade was dubbed? I hope to see one of Steve's wonderful pieces one day soon in person. Tim - Keeping the flame lit...

Digger: With each new painting that is posted I continue to be thoroughly amazed at their beauty! And we though you were only handy with a shovel! Perhaps you have more time to paint now that the ground is so hard??? Mombo

Digger, I've not seen your other works of art, do you have a website? I'd love to visit it. This is fantastic, and you are so talented to be able to work below and above ground, and on water!!
