I really like the new look of the Forums, but the "new since last visit" icons on the main page are just not that different from the rest of them. It's OK when I'm using my desktop with its nice, bright, high-res 17" monitor, but the two icons don't contrast well on my laptop's screen. Is anyone else having difficulty distinguishing between them, or is this a "personal problem"?

I have no problem telling them apart. One looks like a clear day while the other looks like a squall is headed this way. I like it!

No problem here either Art. In fact, there is a more pronounced difference with the images on my laptop than my desktop. But then, technology has changed a bit since I purchased my desktop with it's 14.1" screen 3 years ago, and my laptop and it's 15" screen just a few months ago.

I have a problem with them also. I think they are difficult to pick out.

I don't have too much trouble telling the 2 apart. But that may be due to my desktop pc monitor. I agree that it could be a problem on laptops.

I can differentiate the new icons on my computer...but the old ones were a WHOLE LOT easier to see and tell a difference. I'm OK with it either way but, if I had to choose which ones were better, I'd have to pick the prior versions...

Just one guy's opinion...

I agree Art but didn't really want to be the one to mention it, lol! It does seem to get a bit easier as time goes by. You just have to be a bit more alert!

For those who can't tell day from night, maybe you should do what I have done since John added the feature.

On the main page on the left near the top there is a link that is titled...

Click Here To View Today's Active Topics (all public forums)

It really is the easiest way to check the forums for new items! Try it you'll like it!

It doesn't work too well to "Click Here To View Today's Active Topics (all public forums)" at 11:00 p.m. central time. One doesn't get much! I have missed quite a few topics that way.

Paul has adjusted the on and off lights to further differentiate them. Let us know if that works better for those working on laptops.

There are some shortcomings of this choice. If you last checked in at 7 PM the day before, you'll miss the posts from 7 PM to midnight of yesterday.

It would be nice to have a link like that that shows all threads with new posts since your LAST VISIT.

Thanks for this post!! I never even saw those two boxes before. All I ever used is todays active topics. But yes, I do miss a lot that way, cuz I don't get to visit every day.

They look much better! I can definitely see the difference now. Big improvement! Thanks!
