Ever took at the railing around the lightroom at Nobska light and see those knobs? Ever wonder what they were? They are little lighthouses!! Nobska is one of only two that still have these little decorative lighthouses around the railings. Here is a picture I took - I thought that they were sooo cute!! Eskilady

Cape Neddick also has these lighthouses on the railings.

I knew that there was one more light with them but I didn't remember what the guide had said. I have never been in Cape Neddick but hopefully, will get the chance sometime! Thanks for the information! Eskilady

Didn't Lighthouse Depot have some of these for sale a few years back? I should have bought one, they look sharp!

Well you learn something every day! I never knew that. I'll have to check that out the next time I visit Nobska Light. Thanks for sharing! Bob

I don't know how often Nobska is open to climb. We went with Friends of Santa and he has connections to get that one, Chatham and Highland open for us. I think that Highland was actually open for the public but I don't think that the other two were. They were great to climb! :p

Robert and I were on that same bus trip on Sept. 17th. Nobska, Chatham and Nauset are not open to the public on a day-to-day basis; only special occasions. They were open for the special trip arranged by Friends of Flying Santa. However, no one showed up at Nauset, so we didn't get to climb. Highlands (Cape Cod) is open to the public.

I managed to see the knobs also. They had the lighthouse open when we were out visiting the Cape last year. What a great view from up there also!
