Have there been any discussions about updating "The Offical Collectors Guide"? Also, how are folks valuing their collections for insurance purposes. Thanks!

I think Webmaster John can answer your update on the OCG question best.
We've had a few discussions about updates, but don't think there is a plan.
I'm not sure what other collectors are doing, if anything, for insurance purposes. I currently don't have a insurance value on my collection. Might not be a bad idea. I have a spread sheet with what I payed for each piece. I could add a column for current value.

Unless you have many of the older lights that are harder to get, the only safe way to value your collection is to insure them for what the retail price is. In the good old days there was a secondary market but if you check Ebay there really is no piece that you can't buy on there for retail or less. The exceptions to this rule are Hatteras(102) and Coquille River(111) and a couple of others in the 5500 production range.

Sorry, no plans for a second edition or a supplement to the Official Collectors Guide.
If you still haven't bought one or you want another one. Check them on LHD. Last I heard they were under $15.

I'm also grateful to both John & Paul. I still have the book at arms reach on my desk and refer to it a few times a week.
I hope a second addition happens. Maybe on the 10th anniversary of the first.

My THANKS to Paul, John, and Don for a great resource book for HL! I use it regularly. And it's handy to carry on trips.
Wondering if supplements to the book by year would be a possibility for someone to undertake? Supplements would be less involved than a revised book and much less pricey. Might also include a correction list for our books so we can update them.
For 2007 and later I refer to the HL website although it's not near as handy as the HL Guide book.
