Does anyone know when the Rose Island for the Society members will be shipped?

They are in the mail... I got a call two days ago from my dealer that mine's in.

Shouldn't be much longer.

We'll all be curious to know several things about the Rose Island REXM piece that western collectors will receive before those of us on the east coast. Differences between REXA and REXM, number assignment of REXM pieces (will John get #26?), total count of each version, etc. Who will be first with the scoop?!

Picked up my Society Rose Island tonight (didn't get #26) and I'll do the scoop for you Rich.

The numbers were distributed in the order reserved. If you turned in your reservation form to your local dealer, they may have waited a bit before mailing a bunch in. If you called Harbour Lights on the first day they would take reservation information, you will end up with a low number.

They have NOT all been shipped yet; I spoke with HL today. They should all be out soon, however. Because of the process of matching individual reservations to specific dealers, it takes a lot of care to be certain the shipment goes out correctly. The pieces were numbered and all arranged in numeric order.

Then the HL warehouse crew went around with a shopping cart the shipping order list for a particular dealer, pulling the correct numbers for that dealer. The manifest for each dealers' shipment showed the individual collector's name and the serial number they were to receive. A request to the dealer to honor the serial numbers was included with the shipment.

The approximate counts are 700 for the Reunion Attendee version and 6,000 for the Society version.

I've spotted six differences between the two. In each case, details were taken away from the Reunion Attendee version to create the Society version.

One difference of course is the flag. On the Reunion Version, it reads

REUNION 1998 (C)
ROSE ISLAND
#

On the Society version, it reads:

ROSE ISLAND
# RI
(C) 1998

The bottom label reads the same except for the product # (614 for Reunion, 616 for Society).

Just to keep the suspense going for a bit longer and to allow others to add to the differences, I'll post one of the five remaining differences I've seen.

A star fish appears on the beach of the Reunion version - missing from the Society version.

Twinkle twinkle little star - now I wonder how much your are. Any thoughts or predictions on the price differential between REXA and REXM?

One of them has a picnic basket and stuff on the picnic table the other doesn't.

I think one of them has a blanket and stuff on the beach, other doesn't.

The detached building (garage) is squared to the house on one version and just barely off set on the other.

I did a double take when I read "Rose Island" in this thread. Then I took a look at the date. I know I've been away most of the summer but I didn't think I was away that long.
