I'd like to start a thread of lighthouses that are close to home. Since Split Rock is already sculpted I nominate Two Harbors, MN.
It is so neat and is a Bed and Breakfast. We always visit it when travelling on the North Shore.

Let's see some more of our Hometown Favorites
with pics if possible!

Now that I can wish again, I'll nominate
Sodus Point, New York.

Its not close to home any longer but it once was....."Saginaw River Rear Range Light" in Bay City, Michigan.....which, by the way is featured on the front cover of the newest issue of Lighthouse Digest Magazine.

Brent,
I cant believe you beat Todd Shorkey out in placing the Saginaw River Rear Range Light into this thread. That light has been his pride and joy since I started reading the forums. By the way I am originally from Saginaw and am a little partial to that light also.

I'm a little slow in getting to the forums today, but here is my two cents for the Saginaw River Rear Range Light.

In regard to the "Lighthouse Digest" cover and story on the SRRRL, I was a little disappointed that it took so long to get the story out. I sent them information on the restoration back in February. I guess the production/story schedule was tight and they couldn't get to it for a while. Maybe lesser known lights get a lower priority. Anyway, I am very happy that they did they story and that they gave the cover of the issue to my hometown light. (even though it wasn't one of my photos )

Do they have any idea how big you are, Todd? Both in physical size and the size of your Heart!

Did you send them the"I walked on water to get these pictures" story?
