I was wondering if anyone else had a Harbour Lights Christmas? I got a Point Fermin 1993 Society Exclusive and two LLOM from the kids. Ponce Inlet, Flordia and Holland, Michigan.

Not a Harbour Lights Christmas this year.Unless you count the Alcatraz Ornament that I won from the Long Island Chapter of the USLHS.

No HL products, but I did get some Lighthouse related gifts including both DVD sets of the PBS Specials.

I also got a Rose Island Christmas Ornament, a Lighthouses of The Chesapeake Magnet and note paper with Lighthouses on it.

I also recieved a can of Lighthouse Mixed Nuts from the Chesapeake Maritime Museum.

Being on autoship eliminates the possibilty of giving me HLs as gifts. I did give one of my Hooper Strait Reunion Exclusives as a Christmas gift to our friends. They were thrilled to say the least!

I, like Bob, am on autoship with my dealer, so no H.L.'s directly, only indirectly, I got a bunch of gift certificates to my dealer.(My family is trained so well!) So, I kinda got H.L.'s for Christmas.

Pretty much of a lighthouse Christmas here. As for HL's, I received Seguin Island, Long Beach Bar and Grosse Pt LLOM.

Non-HL's items included 3 lighthouse calendars, lighthouse note pads, and a VERY large LE Lefton Old Mackinac Point with lighted windows and tower (now all I have to find is a sturdy table or tree trunk for this monster).

This was definitely a good lighthouse Christmas. I got Bremerhaven, Charleston, and the Pemaquid Glow.

Out of all of these, the Bremerhaven piece is my favorite.

Now it looks like I need to go out and get another curio. The one that we have is completely full.

I didn't receive any HL's as presents. My older sister did send a unique ceramic lighthouse that doubles as a candle holder though. And Mom and Dad were kind enough to send money which, I have a strong suspicion will be used on at least one HL for my collection.

No Harbour Lights per say, but I did receive the piece that Harbour Lights produced for Lighthouse Depot from my sister-in-law and her husband... Ft Washington.

Some how they managed to get my number 14, which must have happened as a result help from my wife... Sue.

Since I've been keeping up with all the new releases, but not on autoship, it is hard for my family.

When I received my last shipment in mid December, Cedar Keys, New Dungeness & the Michigan City Christmas piece I handed Michigan City to Wayne, told him to open it & check it and put it away until Christmas.

NO lighthouse calendars this year, usually receive at least two. Have my HL calendar from the reunion but don't want to write on it. Need to find another to keep my life in order.

Of course, my Montauk ornament from Long Island drawing & my second Lady Liberty from same.

Yup!

You could say it is a Harbour Lights christmas as all HLs in numerous stores in my area have them for 50%.

This is great news for collectors in regards to the ole wallet, however I had a second heart attack when I found out that my local dealer and the other 19 some Hallmark stores are closing out on their HL inventory. Never to get them again. This stinks!!!

So on one hand it is great to be able to purchase many lights at discount, on the other hand all my local dealers just went poof!! -see post under "Lefton busniess"

Here is what I got for Christmas:
Fort Washington, MD
Sturgeon Bay, WI
New England Spyglasses
Ornaments
Peggy's Cove, Canada

None for me either. I received some money for future purchases! I also received 3 calendars, in which two were the same! One for work and one for home I guess! My Christmas wish was to have my large display case done before Christmas, but there was a problem at the glass shop, so it still is not complete! Hopefully in a week or two!

I.O. gave me a card with a note saying that when the two new lenses come out in February or so he is going to buy them for me.

I also received the Browntrout desk calendar from a neighbor which doesn't appear to be as nice as previous years. The pictures are smaller, no doubt to accomodate the previous, current and next month feature which is nice. The photos, however, just don't seem to be as nice and I do believe I came across at least one duplicated lighthouse as I was going through it?

Another item received was a lighthouse photo album. This is the kind that has thick pages with openings of different sizes and shapes, one or two per page. So it won't hold much, guess it's more of a gimmick type thing rather that a really useful item. But it is cute. There's an attached ribhbon to tie it together. Don't know yet just what to put in it. Maybe if you folks want to send me a picture of yourselves I could turn it into a Wacko Rogues Gallery???

I'm also on autoship and spent all my Christmas money on the regular new issues. Did get the Ft Washington on the 24th so I guess that counts. Also counting towards Christmas, I bought 2 Open Edition Chesapeaks and a Limited Edition Portsmouth at half off on each. I'll use the glass case and base for the 110 footer and the new 41 footer thats coming in a couple of months. That will leave me one case left for the future and that should be happening before the end of the year 2002, according to rumors. Anybody need an open edition Chesapeake or limited edition Portsmouth at a heck of a deal?

A pretty big lighthouse christmas for me. I got LEs of: Jeffrey's Hook and Morris Island(Now). I also received ornaments of Thomas Point, Big Bay Point, Burrows Island, Holland and Sand Island. I was also given a mini-curio to hold all of my ornaments and minis.

Non-HL related, I received a ceramic lighted lighthouse that is pretty neat.

Since no one EVER buys me HL's, I ordered 3 of them for myself for XMAS and didn't open the package when they arrived last November. Instead, I gave them to my 3 kids and told them to each pick one and wrap it up with their name on it for me. Eventhough I knew which ones I was geting, it was still a big surprise to see which one each kid picked as being from them, as well as which serial numbers they were.

I got:
Portsmouth Harbor
Bremerhaven
Charleston/Sullivan

In particular, I was VERY surprised to find that my Portsmouth was a 3 digit piece! Two added bonuses were that my wife, who has never shown any interest in HL's, fell in love with the Bremerhaven piece, and my son who has usually just been "polite" about my collection, went to the mall today and apparently found a dealer because he started asking me questions about some of the peices he saw there. By the way, my youngest daughther (who has always liked my HL's) picked the Porstmouth piece with it's interesting beach, tower, & bridge to wrap for me (like I knew she would) !

Ho Ho Ho !!

Not a HL Christmas, but $$$ for the lenses when they come out. Did manage to get some kitchen towels and pads that are LH motif.
Many months ago, I gave the Lighthouse Depot catalog to my husband and told him the sterling charms I wanted. He bought me all 8.

Why do friends and family ask for a Christmas list if they don't buy anything off it???? LOL (just kidding)

I did receive a Sankaty LE as my only HL gift. What a great piece! The size, the heft, the detail.

Thanks Mom!

Santa did pretty good this year. Picked up
Charlotte-Genessee, Dunkirk, South Bass Island and the Fort Washington piece. Plus a lighthouse jigsaw puzzle, calendar and two books. All in all an excellent HL Christmas.

My wife gave me the Drum Point that I ordered off of ebay and the 5th Order Lens that I bought from the Forum Marketplace, both more than a month ago.

She also told me that I could buy the Hooper Strait Society piece in Annapolis, on our way back from our three day trip to Ocean City, MD. No need to stop in Annapolis! We went to the Sea Shell Shop in Rehoboth Beach, DE while we were down there. I asked the girl behind the counter for one, and she went in the back room and brought out #2639. I told her that I would rally rather have the #893 that was in the display case. So that's what I brought home. I guess #2639 is now on display!

And a lighthouse calendar from my daughters.

I must have been very good for Christmas this year, because I got 3 new Harbour Lights. I got:

Big Bay Point MI (1995 Christmas Edition)
Colchester Reef VT (1996 Christmas Edition)

And without a doubt the biggest surprise was that I also got a New Point Loma CA (Reunion Event Exclusive).

I had a very good Christmas! Thank you Santa!

I received the video LONG ISLAND'S LIGHTHOUSES as a gift, and Fort Washington as a gift from myself, and another LH calendar (We got the Harbour LIghts calendar at the Baltimore reunion). But my post Christmas list is growing rapidly. (And my birthday isn't until September) Oh, well..... I'll have to do a lot of hinting for Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, etc. JoanieO
