We have begun our adventure, but no pictures today.. We got a late start due to one of our cats hiding under the bed.. My cousin and her hubby took over command of guarding the Midwest Harbour Lights Museum and our 3 cats.. Our 1st night stay is in Columbia, MO. Tomorrow we head towards Kansas then Colorado.. Hopefully a pic or 2 tomorrow, for sure when we get to Colorado!
I hope you have wonderful, safe, eventful trip !!!
Looking forward to you pics and travelog !!!

Raining and cool in Colorado today, but greening everything up nicely. Saw a rainbow first thing this morning on my way to work. Enjoy your drive through "Colorful Colorado" and drive safely.
I'm jealous...still counting the days til I head out to WA, 15 days (not counting today).

We are eating lunch right now at the I-70 Diner in Flager, CO, heading towards Denver then Fort Collins tonight.. On their free WiFi!!
Planned out ahead and adjusting on the way as we go, Laura. The Buffalo Bill statue we learned about at a welcome center when we stopped for gas for the car.. Tonight and tomorrow night stays just changed because it is snowing in the Rockies West of Denver..
This will be 3rd trip to Yellowstone with Sue and 4th trip over all.. We have learned to stay a minimum of 2 nights there.. This will be our 1st trip there in May..
A. I wonder why those 3 cars are parked in the median...
B. Colorado knows how to make clouds!!
C. When getting close to Denver; good news, bad news, 1st the good news we see the Rockies.. The bad news, we see the storm hitting Denver and decide to turn North and head to Fort Collins for the night..
D. You just have to stop when you see a pink Cadillac in the sky..
E. The I70 Diner fit the bill on several levels; 1st the food was really good, 2nd they had free WiFi for me to change our route since the Rockies got a foot of snow last night and they expect more tonight, we are heading North to Wyoming sooner..
F. And did I mention they know how to make clouds in Colorado..
Onward to The Land of the Midnight Sun!

We tried out a Cambria Suites in Fort Collins last night, it is a new part of the Choice Hotel Chain.. It was very nice and has everything you need when on a business trip or just a trip.. It probably didn't hurt that it was brand new!
SD is on the way home, John and I haven't planned that all out.. I figure I will be pretty worn out after 4 plus weeks and 3 more days driving to get home..
I just showed Sue on the web, and yes John we will be going to Wall Drugs!!
I put together a panorama shot of the Rockies along US191 on the way to Jackson WY.. It is comprised of 6 images and the combined file would print up at 75 inches wide X 12.5 inches tall at 300 pixels per inch.. The final uncompressed image is 240MB large!
Mount Rushmore, Badlands, Devils Tower, Crazy Horse, Wall Drugs etc. in our Corvette on our honeymoon many years ago! Beautiful country!!! Have fun Brady's!!!
Today we left from the southwest part of Wyoming and took route 191 North between two mountain ranges, the wind River Range and the Wyoming Range; until we climbed to a place called the Rim..

We had lunch at a nice little cafe in Bondurant, WY still at 6, 000 feet plus.. We then start down following the Hoback River to Jackson, Wyoming for the night..
There's not much room in the car, Loon, since we are packed for 4 weeks of driving around and a week's cruise. We hope to do laundry a couple of times..
Excellent pictures of the front range Paul. Some of the views are exactly why I live in Colorado. Now if we could just have some lighthouses and the smell of saltwater in the air it would be perfect!
We move up along the Tetons from Jenny Lake to Jackson Lake.. We had lunch at Jackson Lake Lodge, I had a combination Buffalo and Elk burger, it was very good!
Today started as last night ended pouring rain.. 1st some images of my dinner last night at the Jackson lake Lodge Restaurant... and the rain storm hitting the Tetons..
We are staying at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge and I will add some images as we drove into and through part of the Park later, promised Sue we would go to the Welcome Center and Gift Shop, now..
Great pictures and descriptions!! Love the dining pictures and choices, . Makes me wish I could be heading out for the cruise also! Based on when your reports are posted I hope you are not posting AND driving ! Stay safe!! Rick
There is WiFi every where these days.. Especially Lodge lobbies we are staying in the newest Lodge in Yellowstone next to Old Faithful and Old Faithful Inn, it is called the Snow Lodge at Old Faithful and in has wireless Internet in the rooms..

It rained almost every day and was really foggy at the Tetons when we left. We entered Yellowstone through the South Gate and the quick way to the Old Faithful area was closed so we basically took a tour of the park looping around the long way.. It continued to drizzle and be overcast all day to our Lodge..

Your trip is a the top of my list for my next trip. Please keep notes of your itinerary to share when you return from your grand tour. Fabulous photos Paul! Have a continued great trip Sue & Paul!
Paul, you always do such a good job with your narration and of course, your outstanding photos! It's been a long time since I've been in Yellowstone and the Tetons so I enjoyed revisiting through your eyes. Love the photos of all the wildlife and of your top notch cuisine!
Good thing you came through Missouri last week. We've spent lots of hours watching the weather and/or spending time in the basement.
