I stopped by my dealer today to pick up a piece he'd ordered for me. While I was there, I noticed he had three of the Historic Buildings pieces. I was admiring the lowish numbers on two of them when I noticed Fort Washington had no number on it (or the box, for that matter). After searching through previous postings, it looks like these were individually numbered.

Is this a rare occurrence? I have to admit this is the first I've seen in over 10 years of collecting.

All pieces are individually numbered. Since Fort Washington was a custom piece made for Lighthouse Depot there would not have been any A/P type pieces. There is a Fort Washington LL . Is it possible it is the LL you saw? It would be unusual for a dealer to have a piece that was exclusive to LHD.

If it is the limited edition historical Building Fort Washington it will have a standard harbour Light box and it will have the HB-901 under it and on the box. The LLOM issue will have the LLOM box and the LLOM it will have stamped on it the number LL273

There is no A/P's as Dave said but there will be at least one paint sample if not two floating around, but I doubt that this would be it. (Not impossible but not likely).
The production was 1200 for the HB-901 but usually HL has more than the production amount made. When an order is made it is made with some extras so that there are some available to replace any damaged pieces. These are blanks and when ever one needs to be replaced, Harry or a resident artist (depending on what time period we are talking about) will write in the replacement number.

Not all of the replacement pieces will be used up, so they go back to the HL warehouse.
Remember HL will keep these replacement pieces available for at least until the lighthouse retires or until it is no longer available from dealers or in this case, dealer.
When ever HL clears out its ware house or is looking for lighthouses for a special event sometimes these extras go to dealers or special events.

My guess is that when HL was clearing out their ware house at least one of these no-numbers got leaked out.

Is it more valuable than the standard HB-901?
Sure is.
Is it as valuable as a paint sample?
NO
Do you want me to take a stab at its value?

If it does have the number HB-901 under it and you want to find out if there is a chance of it being a paint sample, You will have to do some research. If we get this far, I will let you know what to do next.

This is definitely HB901. My dealer had ordered one each of Mt. Greylock, Pemaquid Point Bell Tower, Ft. Washington, and Portland Observatory (which another collector had requested). Mt. Greylock was a very low 2-digit, so my guess is this is the end of the stock.

Okay
Well at least check the sticker and verify that it is the standard HL sticker and not the Manufacturers sticker.

Harbour Lights

FORT WASHINGTON BELL TOWER

HB 901
Exclusively for Lighthouse Depot, Wells Maine (c)2001
(bar code)

I'm looking for a LE of Fort Washington. Contacted HLs and they said none available. Would use PayPal to finalize things. Anyone point me in the right direction?

Contact CF member BobM, he may have one for sale. If not post your request in the Trading Post forum, as someone else may have one available.

When Don bought Harbour Lights, he made the unique pieces he had had made by Harbour Lights available to authorized HL Dealers. That could explain some of them available from sources other than Lighthouse Depot.

Can someone answer a question for me? Does HB901 (Fort Washington) come with the usual HL tent card, COA and Registration form? Thanks.
