Harry received the promised photos from the sculptor this morning and passed them along for our look-see.

I've put them on this webpage:

www.lighthouse-events.com/forums/wax.htm

Each of the images on this page can be clicked on to view a more detailed picture.

It's beautiful; how can anyone beat HL's attention to detail?! Those are great shots. Funny, I started looking for the seahorse in the base, then got to the picture of it.

The light looks great - what detail they have on the stones in the tower. Harry also mentioned that things like metal work would be added at a later date. The light is right at 6" tall with a base that is maybe 4.25" v 4.25 inches - a very nice size.

In case you still haven't ordered yours, here is where you start .

Just Fantastic!! Last year at the Regional when I asked Kim if they would ever do the ELL and she said no I was very disappointed. What a difference a year makes.

It's impossible to add to what has already been said, but I will add my "WOW" anyway. I really think that this is a superb piece. Extremely well done! Thanks to all who have done so much to get this done.

Paul, I read your post too fast. I was thinking Hippo and thought you were being funny, but I clicked on the link and realized I was wrong.

HL ???, Erie Land Light: look under bush near cliff’s edge on side where single window of building is to the left of the tower’s base.

I sent Harry a link to this thread and he's taken a look at your comments. While he's pleased with all the positive comments, he's also looking for constructive criticism.

When you are viewing an enlarged image, you may see a square symbol in the lower right corner of the image. Click on that symbol and the picture will get even larger. (If you are using Windows XP.)

I'll add some different views to the page later this morning.

I also like the piece so far but am also worried about the flagpole being broken off. How about putting a hole in the top of the ventilator ball so if the flagpole is broken off we can put it in the top to use as a lightning rod?

I was just checking out the enlarged pics of Erie Land Light. Double WOW on this piece!

I'm very impressed with the wax piece and can only imagine how wonderful the final product will be.

Looks great! One thing on the flag...not sure what we ever settled on this, or if we settled on it, or if we even discussed it (we discussed many things about the flag). Will it be removable from the hole, so that it can be packaged separately in the box (safer) and can become optional to put in (pleases flag- and non-flag crowds)?

Otherwise...absolutely love it! I can't wait to add it to my "collection."

Greg, they was talk of a flag pole that could be removed. However, not sure if they are designing it that way or not. Maybe one of the committee could enlighten us.

Eric, Greg and all,
If it's anything like the previous hls, the accesssories snap in at assembly.
My experience comes from assembling, Hilton Head RRange at the Reunion where the 3 trees came together as well as the Tower outside the main cast in separate holes. I would bet there would be a small hole for the flagpole so it can be removed for shipping and storage. There's no way the flagpole is part of the mould (that's why it's white) so it should be loose/and replaceable if we ask.
Bob

I have said this several times before about the flag pole and that is

"I would tend to leave the flag pole, only, make it removable and ship it not installed. Those that want the flag can install and those that don't want the flag can leave it off".

Hopefully Harry will be reading this and this can be done.

I agree, Rich. I do hope that Harry is reading these posts (and the ones about lights on our lighthouses). The Erie Light model is absolutely beautiful. Please do not ruin it with a tacky flag. Can't we have a flag that has some type of drape on it so that it looks more natural? The little paper flag on my Half Moon Reef isn't even glued onto the pole properly. If I had the option to install the flag or not, I would install it only if it looked better.

The idea of a removable flag pole is really the greatest idea yet! And I hope that they listen to what Grace added about a more realistic flag. Most flags look like the wind is blowing at 40 mph, while the trees are in a dead calm. I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to make the flag look more realistic. These ideas are sure to please 95% of all collectors.

The flag pole could be made removeable. That's the way it is on Two Harbors.

The wax images are outstanding. However, I like the removeable flag pole idea since I am impartial to the flag pole all togethor.

Looking forward to receiving the real deal!

Looks great and can't wait to get mine. I've been out of touch for awhile and not following things as close as I should. But are the Younger's and/or Harry going to sign these before they ship?

If this has been talked about sorry for the overlaps.
