Just picked up a Big Bay Point for a friend and while checking it out against ours, I noticed the difference in the door in the latern room. I am wondering if this was common -- painted vs. non-painted. What does your piece have?

I've not seen or heard of this, Kaiz. Looks like a definite variation.

I do recall that there has been some discussion about the lantern room being rotated a bit more on some pieces than others. Can you eye that on these two and see if the door appears more 'rotated' on one or the other?

Big Bay is one of the only HL Limited Editions that is not numbered.

On my Big Bay, the door is painted.

John, I checked out both of the pieces and they both appear to be in the same location. Just the painting variation.

Well Kaiz, you'll have to check with me next Christmas on this one. I just put all the Christmas pieces away for the year. Those boxes are buried behind all the others that I rotate on display.

If my memory serves me correctly, didn't someone post a picture on the forums of several variations of Big Bay? Perhaps one of our faithful can confirm that.

I have 2 Big Bays, both have painted doors.

Bob, I think the earlier discussion was regarding the lantern room being slightly turned on some pieces (I think)

My door is painted gray. Could it have been retouched?

Boy, I am going to have to send all of you guys some Ginkoba, it was only 11/12/99 when I posted this. http://www.lighthousekeepers.com/forums/Forum1/HTML/000570.html
The white door variation (Kaiz), just looks like someone forgot to paint the door. That's the first one of that variety I have seen.

How many did you want Carol? I've got a fresh batch of white paint all mixed up.
