Good Evening All, This young lighthouse lover's story was brought to my attention yesterday during a Board meeting for the New England Lighthouse Lovers. If you could find the time to send a lighthouse card, post card, or maybe even an extra patch or pin, I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated. Michael Kazlowski, Jr.. He is a seven year old boy who was diagnosed with Pleuropulmonary Blastoma when he was two. He had surgery and received chemotherapy for one year. He was then diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis which causes tumors to grow in the nerve lining, of which he as several. Recently he was diagnosed with a small brain tumor, which is presently being watched. He has several doctors which he vists regulary to follow up on his illnesses. He is in second grade and doing well in school. He participates in some sports but is somewhat limited because of nerve pain.
I think his interest in lighthouses is a great thing for him and with the proper amount of attention we could probably help to keep his mind off his illnesses.
Please let me know if you are interested in sending any items. I'll give you the address for him over email. Just didn't want to post it online. Thanks for understanding.
Shirin

This story really touched my heart and I am sending a package to Michael. Thank you Shirin for bringing this to our extended family here on the Forums. I'm sure Michael will be smiling for quite some time after receiving your gifts, cards, pictures and notes.

Thank you all for taking the time to send a little something to Michael. I can only imagine how great it will be for him to be getting all of this great lighthouse mail.

Shirin,
I'm so sorry to hear about poor Michael. Does he actually own any Harbour Lights lighthouses? I have a couple of duplicates that I accidentally bought before thrusting myself into the Insane Collector's Society. (I initially kept my list in my wallet. Now everything is included in a 21 page Excel file.)
If you would kindly send me his address, I'll be happy to send him a couple of pieces. I'll let you know which ones so that doesn't end up with duplicates.
