I'm sure some of you already noticed, but there's a picture of Bill in the "Beacon Seekers" section that puts him on location at St. Joe, Michigan. That's actually the Grand Haven Pierhead light. That picture is taken from the North side of the light, so I suppose if you have very good eyes you might be able to make out the St. Joe pier lights in the background, a mere 60 miles or so away. If you don't see them, try squinting. Jared

I just got my copy of the legacy and sent Harbour Lights an email pointing out that very thing, in fact St Joseph is 75 miles behind Bill... and that I was in Grand Haven when I shot the picture.
BTW the Coast Guard is going on a real run to help a stranded boater. We were done shooting pictures and were heading back to the car when I heard the siren and told Bill to stop and hold the Grand Haven up for one more picture. Afterwards I asked him he was smiling because I had to concentrate on the Coast Guard and the Lighthouses..
Bill said and I quote " I always smile at you, Paul!"

So guys, since the rest of us are still waiting for ours ... what's new in the legacy?
Any pictures of upcoming pieces?

I can't believe this Randy, I actually received my Legacy before you did. Now that's quite a surprise. Usually here on the East coast we're the last to receive it. MY Hendricks Head came in two weeks earlier than anticipated also. Can the Fresnel lenses be far behind. And of course Boone Island. THe Legacy only shows the top portion. Can't tell if there are any buildings or not. Anyone out there know? Bert

Perhaps.... Boon Island, ME on Page 3 Of course the photo doesn't show the entire piece, just 2/3 rds of the tower showing the lantern room and guy wires. Looks NICE though!!! Christopher

I received my Legacy over the weekend! Great pictures by some of the locals here! Nice job to the following: Rod Watson, "Big" Dave Hannum, Bob Scroope, Gary Martin, and Mark Cassino. Excellent pictures guys! Great issue! Hopefully everyone will get their's soon!
I didn't know till now that Boon Island, ME is the "Choose a Lighthouse for Harbour Lights to produce" winning figurine for this year! Only top part shown in Legacy, it should be a good one! Congratulations to Ronald Ervi, who is the winner of this light!

Randy,
Mike Kaiser also had 2 pics in this issue and it was a Paul Brady photo that was responsible for the start of this thread (in addition to his page of pics of the NJ regional).

Thanks for pointing that out Dave! I knew I would miss someone with all those pictures! Sorry Mike and Paul! It was Paul's picture with Bill holding the figurine! I'll try and do better in the future!
(I guess I was thinking more in line with the photo contest!) [This message has been edited by Randy Kremer (edited 05-14-2002).]
