As promised...here they are! It was cold, but gorgeous. All of these were shot with my Canon Digital Rebel, 24-135/2.8 Sigma, and 200mm/2.8L Canon lens. Other than an ND Grad 2-stop soft on the horizontal fourth shot, no filters other an a UV on the 200mm. If anyone wants technical details, please feel free to ask and I can look them up.

I was flat on my back on solid ice looking up for this one!

Ice dunes built up on the north pier.

I was triple layered in $60 worth of those fancy thermals and wool socks with my full length wool coat, two hats, and 100 pile thinsulate gloves. I was out for almost two hours and I was too hot! Just my toes were a little chilly. Two pairs of socks next time. laugh

Very nice Jen. It makes me cold just looking at them. smile What a difference from seeing the lighthouse in June to January.

Thanks for braving the cold weather to share your photos.

Thanks for sharing, Jen. Like the last two shots. I like the 4th picture because it includes the cat walk. (The South Haven cat walk is one of my favorites.) Like the sky colors and the lighted light in the last one.

Greg, my back nerves are fine. My butte nerves are another story. After I slid onto my bottom accidently on a non-snow covered patch of ice, I decided I was going to stay there for the pix of the front of the light. There was no snow whatsoever for traction and the ice was hilly enough that it was very treacherous.

When I first walked out there, some stupid idiot had hoisted himself up the catwalk and was walking around the top of the tower. I am not usually outspoken, but after he climbed down and walked past me, I told him point blank that he was stupid and could have fallen - on top of it, as Federal property and an aid to navigation, he could have been in serious trouble. His reply was, "I didn't see any sign posted anywhere". DUH! mad
