Ok, now for more from my vacation. I shot these photos of the North Manitou shoal light, "The Crib", on the ferry ride back from South Manitou. I was lucky to have very calm water on the lake, and it made for a nice ride and some pretty decent pictures.

On the way over to the island I shot some good ones of the light with a tug and barge passing in front of it. Unfortunately the night before I had pushed a roll of 400 print film to 500, and when I loaded the roll of Provia on the ferry, I forgot to reset the camera to DX, so I had about 10 shots that were terribly underexposed. I scanned them with the brightness cranked way up and they're viewable, but not nearly as good as they would have been had I paid attention..... To say I was upset was an understatement. My wife was pretty sick of hearing about it after a short time.
So, here are two that I think turned out well, hope you like em.

Hi Mike!

It sounds like you and your wife had a great time. Sometimes goofs on film are good mistakes. I think your underexposed prints have a moody, eerie, cool quality to them. Nice reflection too!

What dates were you in the UP? I was at Tahquamenon and Whitefish Sun. 6/29 with mom, aunt, sister, daughter, and nephew (girls weekend) - needless to say they were sick of me having to stop and take pictures every 5 minutes! smile

I'm going to Door County for a wedding on Washington Island first weekend of September. Looking forward to visiting Rock Island SP with the Pottawatamie Lighthouse.

Jen, when you go out to Pottawattamie lighthouse it's a pleasant 1 1/2 mile walk. Do be careful of the poison ivy.. there's a lot of it on the island!
