I took these shots January of this year in Manistique, Michigan. I spent the day hiking and photographing waterfalls around Munising and Trenary. I took advantage of the great lighting all day and ended it with a series of shots of the sun setting behind the Manistique Lighthouse. Here are three shots that best exemplified that afternoon. Thats snow you see in the foreground, and I think it's on its way back.

Manistique is one my favorite UP lights - a sturdy metal tower painted a darker red - it has a simple elegance. Thanks for these nice pictures!

Nice pictures JWB! The snow you can keep. No longer interested in those old fashioned New England Winters, even though we may be in for one this year. I guess that means we'll have to get and and get pictures of lighthouses with snow around them. Now that would be nice!
