NAME THE FLAME PIC GAME ‘02 Round 2 May thru August


Below is today's Light picture to be named.
Here’s a brief list of guidelines that will be used.
1. Every Thursday (usually in PM EST) a new light-puzzle will be presented, barring problems.
2. The light may be from anywhere in the world.
3. Please limit guesses to 1/person/day
4. A hint may be provided every day starting on the 2nd day.
5. I will keep/post the running scores.
6. Scoring will be by points assigned for difficulty (1-5), and placement. For
example, on a 5 point puzzle the following five levels will be awarded:
5 pts – 1st correct answer, 4 pts – 2nd, 3 pts – 3 rd, 2 pts – 4 th, 1 pts – 5th
For a 4 point puzzle there will be 4 levels awarded, etc.
7. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS ! Email your guess with the active clue word from the solved jigsaw puzzle.

8. Your input (please!) with photos ENCOURAGED appreciated, and acknowledged when used.

Once you have downloaded the game, just doubleclick on the exe file and start the STANDALONE VERSION. Remember, that solving the puzzle isn't by any means the end - you've got to use the completed puzzle as clues to figure which LH it is.
But of course, you can't win the game until you solve the jigsaw puzzle.
Right click on puzzle pieces to rotate them. Move them together and if you are right, they will stick together.

Not a Buffet fan...I found lyrics on the internet and printed them. After staring at them for 3 1/2 hours, I decided to look them up again. That is when I discovered I didn't have the COMPLETE lyrics!

My guess for part 2 is in as well.

DRAT actually having to do work during the day!

Wow, Larry! 3 1/2 hours?! I am a Buffet fan, but my problem was that I've heard him do so many different versions of the song that I had to go back to one of my CDs with the original version to remember the actual locations that were mentioned the first time around!

Okay, not the WHOLE 3 1/2 hours. I did watch Survivor and CSI during that time. It just took me that long to realize that I may not have had the complete lyrics. DOH!

I also found the lyrics on the internet and printed them out. Didn't realize that they were not complete. Spent a lot of time looking for a lighthouse named Sulfur, Rum, Three Mile Island, New York City, Mexico, Aglow, etc. Then, figured George wasn't going to make it that easy by giving a clue with the actual lighthouse name.

It almost seemed too easy for me too, Joyce. That is, of course, why I looked for Buzzard's Bay LAST!

A couple of them I immediately knew weren't worth looking for -- NYC, Tennessee.

I figured it was either Mexico (or Gulf of Mexico), San Juan, or Buzzard's Bay.

Yea, me too. Found the Lyrics right away. Looked for anything that could be a lighthouse and figured "Three Mile Island" but then searching for such a lighthouse didn't find any.

PLEASE NOTE: From time to time the possibility exists that scores MAY have to be adjusted due to the timing of delivery of email answers, e.g., EMAIL A sent at 10am arrives at 2:00pm while EMAIL B sent at 11:00am arrives at 11:30am. Although I received B first, A ultimately gets the credit based upon sent date/time(which is posted on the received note). Sorry for any inconvenience this brings, but I certainly don't control internet traffic/deliveries.

Diane, in one of my previous games I did use a lighthouse from Tennessee!!!!

Well, since the lighthouse was surrounded completely by water, I figured that it was unlikely to be from Tennessee!

The first lighthouse here was built by the British in 1848 burned down in 1934. Date Present Tower Built: 1939
