- up the rickety wood stairs with no banister in 1997. I enjoyed reading a story after our visit about several residents who took refuge in the lighthouse during a hurricane the following year.

Point Lookout MD, only open on the first Saturday of November, and Maryland Challenge Day. We climbed it, a very, very, short climb, on a Saturday it was open in 1998.

Little River Lighthouse in Cutler, Maine smile

I climbed the Little River Lighthouse on July 26, 2002, the day before the Federal Government turned over ownership of it to the American Lighthouse Foundation under the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act of 2000, making it the first light in New England to be transferred under this act.

My best,
Paul Conlin
