This is continued from Part 1 .

Please post a note here when you put your cards in the mail. Also, a few folks should post when they get the cards.

We left off with everyone commenting on Dennis' illegal but very attractive entry into this exchange.

As a follow up to the questions concerning Dennis' contribution to this exchange, I have carefully reviewed the evidence submitted and have made the following decisions:

(1) The submission is of the highest quality
(2) There was no malicios intent on the part of the defendant
(3) Rather than being banned from participation in future exchanges, I have decided that Dennis' punishment will be that he serve as Mombo's Beer Runner while on Long Island for the Regional. (The side benefit of this is that the exercise will be good therapy given his recent health issues, as long as he isn't run to death fetching more beer. . . )

You're pushing it, Dennis. Keep it up and I will have to revise the punishment to also include PAYING Mombo's bar tab! Not my fault the keyboard "drops" key strokes from time to time. . . just bought a new computer, so maybe it will do better when I get it all set up.

Too bad for Dave that we don't have spell check here on the forums :p Be careful your old computer doesn't get to close to your new one...it might catch this

Ruthie,

The word drops is spelled correctly. It is exactly the word I intended to use. Have you, perhaps, been tipping a few with Mombo?? But we digress from the subject at hand, PCE 17 receipts.

Just a reminder that this one is a 3 month exchange and we are into the last month.

And Ruthie can have all the beer she wants. Nothing works better for a sore back, I can vouch for that! wink

All my cards went in the mail today.

I had a friend pick them up for me. I had told him to get me 30 cards. He came back in town and called me and said he had to go to 6 stores but was finally able to pick up the 300 cards that I needed! eek

I didn't realize that my husband and him were playing a joke on me until several hours later when I drove to Park City to pick up my cards. :p The whole drive up to Park City I kept wondering how I was going to get rid of 300 post cards of the same lighthouse. It was a relief to see the small sack with the 30 cards.

This exchange goes until Sept 15th, correct? I have lost use of my arms/hands due to shoulder tendonitis. I am keying this one handed and it is difficult. I won't be getting my postcards out until my shoulder inflammation calms down. I seem to have hurt myself moving my son into his new apartment for college. I have hurt this shoulder twice before, had it operated on twice, and I hope this time it heals quicker. I have slightly hurt my good shoulder also, but it is only slightly sore. I don't want to push it too much.

Suzanne, it goes until September 15th or whenever you have recovered from your injuries. Take it easy and I hope you get better soon!

Suzanne,

You get healthy first then worry about the post cards. That way everyone will get an extra treat they had forgotten about somewhere in the future. Or, you could always make your son write and address the cards, but he should probably be concentrating on his studies.

Just get yourself better, and know that you will be in everyone's thoughts and prayers.

Hi everyone,

Mailed my cards today. At least I'm not the last! I count nine that I haven't received from this exchange. Received so many nice cards this exchange including two last week from Judy. One was for PCE#15 demonstrating that it is never too late to catch up! Dennis's was such a nice surprise, loved the stamped postcards.

Thanks to all for the different cards for my collection.

Got back in my mail today one of my pcds for this swap. The PO managed to scrape off the address label so I don't know who it should have gone to. Anybody out there missing my card for this swap?

My trivia question answer for those interested:

"Chop" is an old English term used in reference to the land located at the mouth of a channel. Mouth is the essential meaning. A related usage of the word is seen in the more common phrase of "licking your chops" when you really want to eat something.

Marblehead, Mass. Lighthouse, you will always have a very special place in our hearts. ....We've made the journey as far south as New Jersey, as far north as Canada. Over 100 lighthouses visited.... and so many more to go.

Thanks to Doc John for explaining his trivia question re the meaning of Chop. Received his PC a few weeks ago of the East Chop lighthouse on Martha's Vineyard. Looked in all my lighthouse books but no answers.

We then traveled to Martha's Vineyard for the first time on 9/18. Visited the four accessible lighthouses including East & West Chop. On the ferry back to Wood's Hole I even asked a couple of older natives and no one knew the meaning.

So it was nice that the qustion is finally answered.

Hi Lorie,

I show I'm missing four cards from the exchange including Ladybug (Darlene). Two are regular Forum guys that I'm guessing might think like Darlene that the exchange ends 9/30. But that still means that you are short three more than me?! confused

Thanks for helping me out Donna. I just received Roxie's card in the mail yesterday. After re-checking, I found 2 cards I had forgotten to mark off the list.

I keep trying to convince my kids that I am "Mrs. Brain" so don't tell them my brain is slipping a little!

Thanks Roxie for the beautiful Maine card. It looks a little different from the current pictures Paul just took of the same lighthouse.

Well, I guess someone has to be last! Mine went out Saturday. Every card is a aerial shot, but not everybody will get the same card. I sent about 5 or 6 different ones - couldn't get that many that were the same!

WOW! 3 cards today from Darlene, Randy and Roxie. The aerial shot I got on my card from Randy was of West Chop. I saw it, climbed it, photographed it, but I couldn't find a postcard of it when I was on Martha's Vineyard. Thanks!

Thanks to all the participants in PCE #17. I have received some great cards.

I'm just down to missing 1.

A couple of days ago I received a susnset postcard of South Haven, marked PCE 17, with nothing else on it (except my address, of course). Who can I thank for this nice addition to my collection?

Laurie, maybe that card was from Jared (pierhead)? See his post above. I received a different card from him but maybe his were not all the same card?

I am still a card short on this one. Has everyone received a card from Ron F?

Hi Sue,

Only one I am missing from PCE 17 is from Ron. I E-mailed him over the weekend with congrats on Lighthouse Depot cover shot and asked about PCE.

He replied that he still has to get cards out for two exchanges. I'm guessing PCE17 & in envelope? No timetable given, but he is aware that he owes for two PCEs.

Actually I think that participation has gotten better in the later exchanges. Early ones would have 3-4 participants that would never be heard from. Now we just have people that extend the deadline but eventually catch up.
