For those interested, this will be an exchange of Lighthouse Christmas Cards that have your holiday greetings written on them. Basically, this will be just like sending out your usual holiday cards just with lighthouses! Participants will be limited to 25 or to those who sign up by November 30th, which ever comes first. For those signing up please send me an email to me at sweetpshirin@yahoo.com with your forum name and mailing address. Also, please indicate which exchange you are signing up for.

As with last year's exchange, please feel free to make your own cards, especially for those areas where it is hard to find a lighthouse card in the stores!

This exchange will run from December 1 to January 15th.

I'll be #1

Shirin,

I'll be #2, but you still try harder than me.

When do you sleep?

I'll be #6. I loved the exchange last year. My relatives asked if these were all from friends and I said "yes". I'm looking forward to receiving new cards this year.
Thanks for getting this started Shirin!

Shirin, can I sign up for #7? I'll send you mailing address.

What a wonderful idea! And I'm making some cards this year, having gotten hooked on rubber stamping!

Just have to make sure I know the rules, since this is my first time.

I'm guessing that this works differently from a "round robin"?

Shirin...I've really just gotten into the stamping thing. I went to a party that was held at my daughter in-law's and got hooked!

We did projects...and I told them it was obvious that I had skipped kindergarten and first grade...all thumbs with the cut & paste & painting stuff.

But I figured I could tie this craft into lighthousing!

For those not sure of what is involved, you will be sending lighthouse themed Christmas cards to the other participants. If SHirin gets 25 people to sign up, you would need 24 cards to send out, 25 if you want to keep one for yourself. This variation will include a holiday note from you in the card. You can send out different cards, or all the same. Last year several of us made our own cards to be used. For example, my sister did a drawing of the Michigan City lights with a Santa included. You can also manufacture one using a photo you have taken. They can be printed out on a variety of materials. There are several versions of cards available for printing. We did see some very interesting cards last year.

I'm in . . . .

Shirin,

I haven't done the Christmas card exchange before so I'll give it a try this year. Put me down for whatever the next number is.

Looks like I'm in for the greeting exchange since that seems to be the majority. I am totally new to this. So basically, I will get a list of ## of people, and I send them a card, with my name, as if I was sending it to a member of my family? That's the part I am unsure of. smile

I will also be making my own.

Please count me in and let me know of the details! I will also be making my own "photo" cards. smile

Shirin,

If you read this, empty your mailbox. Your email is being bounced because you are "over quota". How much stuff do you have stashed away that needs to be cleaned out????????????????

Shirin, give this a try when traveling. It works for me all over the US: http://www.mail2web.com
When the screen comes up you enter your login name and password and your mail will be delivered to your current cpu. Just remember that when you delete anything from this venue it is really gone, not just in the trash.

Looking forward to getting the cards from all the others.

You still have plenty of time Eskilday! Part of the fun is that we don't all send the cards at the same time. That spreads the enjoyment of the arrival of new cards out over a longer period of time. smile

Shirin,

Of course i read it. I gave it to Esther to look at and she made the same connection I did without me mentioning it.

She didn't recognize the Lighthouse at first- the only time we saw it was in the middle of a Gigantic Fog Bank and looked a bit different.

Thnaks for the cards Shirin and Jen.
My cards will be in the mail this afternoon. Everyone gets the same card. I'll give you all a clue as to the subject - it was one of the few blue sky we saw during our trip to the Long Island Regional event. We saw this light shortly after a very bumpy rough ride on the ferry from Connecticut.
