In recent days I have received cards from Bob and Joanie. Carol's was delivered by the USPS in a body bag, having been significantly modified by their equipment. Great cards, all.
My cards will go in the mail tomorrow. Everyone gets the same. It will be a new card to everyone's PCE collection, though some have seen it.....

Once more again - I love this game - two new postcards today - thanks to Suzanne Murphy and Carol Z. Carol, did you choose this postcard specially for me? It has Iris-flowers in front of the lighthouse :-) Suzannes postcard is very romantic with the moon - thank you to both of you, I like your cards very much.

The post card I used is one of the 11 I had printed for the recent Collectors Reunion (using pictures taken by Mike Kaiser, Paul Brady and me). The picture was taken during a fly over of the western Straits lights I did in May 2005. I will start a separate thread to talk about the production.

I did receive Lorie's card today - mail seems to be slowing down. Usually only 2-3 days for mail from her to arrive. Neat card, but sounded like a lot of blarney to me....

Arrived here in NJ today, too, with USPS giving me the wonderful surprise of making the one area where the ink gets blurred right over the lighthouse. It seems interesting that it arrived in NJ and IN the same day, if there was that much of a delay. Dave, is yours postmarked 17 October, too? Otherwise, though, a great card! I always love foreign cards, especially those with Great Britannic origin. The Titanic reference on the back of the card was cool, too, myself being a liner nut.

Lori's card also arrived here damaged. Looks like there's a big white cloud covering the top two thirds of the lighthouse. Actually the ink was rubbed off. But, it's a new card for our collection. Thanks Lori.

What a bummer so many cards were damaged. I'll try to make it up to everyone with the cards in the envelope. I am working on them and hope to get them out this week.

My card from Lorie wasn't bad, only a slight bit of cancellation showing on the front, and not on the lighthouse itself. Did anyone else notice the postmark? Not the traditional circle job but printing across the top of the backside of the card. Maybe this new cancelling machine is what made such a mess of so many cards?
At the beginning of my participation in the exchanges I took a batch to the local P.O. and asked if they could be hand cancelled. I was told that they could but that the main office would just put them through their machine anyway...

Three cards today! I sifted through the post and kept pulling them out!
Mombo...great card, a favourite light. Great message, too!
JoAnn - Neat light! Strangely, I have a card that looks the same (design-wise) from Fort Pickering, MA. If I remember, it was a regionally-produced card, which makes yours from across the country kind of interesting. I'll have to dig it out and check it out.
Darlene - One of my favourite WA lights (though I do love all those cool octagonal towers). Came through a little worse for wear...creased, bent, and worn...LOVE the USPS!
Is this it? If so, thanks to everyone who sent cards (can't remember them all)! This has been (is) a great exchange!

Post office never fails to amaze - they get the mail delivered quickly one time then the next time they send it via foot messenger. Received cards from Darlene and Mombo today. Both great cards, thanks.

I'm amazed at how fast International mail is these days. I remember when it took at least a week. My cards didn't go out until last Saturday as Friday was a holiday. So including Sunday it made it to Margret and Stan in 4 days!

Got Tom and Joyce's today, too...neat card! With all the Reunion cards, it makes me keep regretting I didn't go....but I should be there for the VA trip next year! How many more are left?

I'm sorry that I haven't gotten my cards out yet... hopefully by next week. We've had some family illness and time was spent at the hospital.
Thanks for understanding.
