My first piece was a Ponce DeLeon GLOW that I purchased because I was already collecting replicas of this particular light. It turned my collecting into Harbour Lights collecting although I must admit I still collect any replica of Ponce. We spent many summer vacations near Daytona and for years it was the only lighthouse that I was really aware of. My collection of Ponce replicas is somewhere near 50. Some are nice, some not so nice but that doesn't really matter. If it says Ponce or can be identified as such I probably have it. Unfortunately my Harbour Lights collecting did not start soon enough to obtain #132 LE and it was too costly for my pocketbook. Well, GOOD NEWS! I finally bit the bullet and purchased one for $225. While not quite retail, I have seen it much higher. I told myself that it's no different than buying three retail pieces. However when it arrived today I felt much better. I was very surprised at the size of this piece. I don't have many old pieces and the new ones seem to be a bit smaller. Nevertheless, I now have the centerpiece for my collection. It's doubtful that I would ever pay that much for any other light but this one is worth it, although I may have to put off some future purchases.

Way to go! Congratulations on your new purchase! There's nothing like adding that truly special piece to the collection! Wow 50 Ponce Lighthouses, that must be a site to see.
Congrats!

Hey Ed, How about a photo of your Ponce? See if you can get most of the 50 in together? Congrats on adding a special piece to your collection. I'm trying to save up for the Ocracoke I need to complete my NC lighthouses... but HL keeps comimg out with more WOW's and I can't buy em all ( I will when I hit the lottery )

Some of us don't even have 50 lighthouse replicas. But 50 of a single light? That's an accomplishment!

I'm currently building a new cabinet to hold these so most are in a boxed status at the moment. As soon as I complete it I will post a picture.

If you are going to pick one lighthouse to concentrate your collection on, I can't think of many better than Ponce. I consider it my "home away from home" lighthouse. We've spent lots of time there, and it is one of the most beautiful lighthouses around. Congrats on the new addition to your collection! ------------------ Diane[This message has been edited by DMancini (edited 06-28-2001).]

Congratulations for securing that most important, to you, HL LE! I'm sure the cabinet you are making for your display will show the lighthouses off well. Derith

Ponce is indeed an excellent center piece for your collection. So which of the Belles is next on your list? :-)

Congrats Ed.. ...Ponce is a very nice center focal piece. You know one of our DCL members loves Ponce so much he sold his home here in Louisville and moved to Florida to be close to it. Enjoy the grouping. KYKEEPER - Pat

They may have to come out with a new version now that they have returned the dome to it's original black. I was kind of partial to the green myself.

Hi Ed, ...I really like the size of the Ponce limited edition by HL. It really makes it stand out in a crowd. It is one of my favorites and obviously one of your favorites too. Congrats!!! You got a good deal! Bob

Congratulations Ed14 on your latest addition to your Ponce collection. When MJ and I visited FL several years ago we were quite impressed with the wonderful job that was done to preserve the lighthouse and other buildings. It is a great lighthouse to have as a favorite. Most of us have a special lighthouse that we identify with. For me it is Big Sable in Michigan so naturallly when Harbour Lights came out with the limited edition I was thrilled! I must admit, I was very fussy so I never purchased a replica from another company.
The limited edition Ponce is a beautiful piece and will "out shine" all your other replicas. Enjoy!

Ed, Way to go! It is a great looking piece, and my trips to Ponce the last few years have been great. I only have the glow in this, but I look forward one day to be able to get the LE in it also. Rusty
