Hello. Looking forward to exploring the forums and learning more about Harbour Lights. I have around 20 pieces...mostly from last year and this year, although I do have the original West Quoddy and Cape Canaveral. I love the detail and I love lighthouses in general so...I'm hooked.

Mike - Welcome to the Collector Forums. You are among friends and fellow lighthouse lovers here. We all share the same interests in lighthouses (learning about and passing on our maritime heritage, visiting, photographing, collecting miniatures, saving, restoring and re-lighting these national treasures). I look forward to reading your future posts and maybe meeting you at a future New England Lighthouse Lovers (NELL) Event.

Hi, Mike (or do you prefer Michael?). Thanks for the kind words about my review of Long Beach Bar. My opinion affects thousands of collectors around the world, so you can trust my every word.

Welcome.

Thanks for all the warm wishes. The collection is awesome, very detailed. I am thinking though about colleting the Little Lights. After looking at them, some of them are more detailed then the original pieces. Guess practice makes perfect. Hope you all are enjoying what is left of Summer.

Hi Mike,
Welcome aboard! You'll find this bunch to be
true collectors to the core--that is the
crazy side of life. Lighthouses become a way
of live for some of us. You're right. The
little lights are more detailed that the early LE's but just think of all the development that has taken place since then.
You obviously haven't found the Harbour Lights part of E-bay yet!! You will become
a true addict!!

Keepin' the Flame, Rich

Welcome aboard, Michael. The eBay Harbor Lights is either a place to avoid (if you are subject to being hooked on the auction action) or a place to enjoy, if you want to get a sense of what's out there on the secondary market, or how you might make out in your sales. Either way, be prepared to spend some time... .

Welcome aboard, Mike. When I started collecting last year it was just to fill up a space on a curio next to my Disney stuff. Then it was all the west coast lights. Then it was all the one's I've been to. Then it was all the one's I want to go to. Then it was one of each type of lighthouse. Then it was just the LE's. Then it was...well okay some of the open editions. Then it was international. Then it was the little lights. Well, some 168 later, I've got a whole wall covered in Harbour Lights and I still don't have the one I really want, but it just came out in a Little Light, so maybe I'll be all right....and then again....

I too only started last year and have found all editions of Florida lights, plus a few more. Collection now stands at 31 lights in all. This does not count Little Lights and Christmas ornaments. Even my wife has been bit, although she does not want to admit it!

The one lighthouse that would put a stop to my collection...atleast until the second mortgage comes through!...Pt. Vicente, CA.
I used to hang out there as a kid when I went to Marineland. Marineland's not there anymore. It became a studio for MTV a few years back. It's probably condo's by now.

Hello all!

Again, thanks for all the warm wishes. It seems that most people who are lighthouses enthusiasts are wicked cool.

I work for a Freight company, and was talking to someone in Connecticut yesterday, she mentioned she was going to the Cape on vacation. I told here I love the Cape and especially the Lighthouses. Her comment was I love them also. I asked if she was a collector and what do you know, she said yes Harbour Lights, along with a Zillion lighthouse do dads in her office. Small world isn't it? She is visiting Maine next month and I suggested that we connect and I would show her Lighthouses in Maine. Hope it works out, I like showing off our Lighthouses here. Make it a good day.

Michael
