I just recently obtained the Burrows Island piece, and unfortunately during shipment, the lightning rod slipped out and was lost!
How can I get a replacement Rod? Anyone have a broken piece I can transplant the rod? or any other suggestions?

A small black plastic bristle from a hair brush will work.. Harbour Lights used them as replacements years ago before they stopped providing replacements..

Most years the rods didn't stay in, that's one reason they stopped putting them on the lighthouses.. A second reason was they were harder to package with the rods on them and not bending them..

I also use Christmas Tree/Wreaths bristles and color them black with a permanent black marker. They work fine or the bristle from a hair brush. I kind of doubt that anyone will take the rod out of a good piece and donate it. In talking to Harry the brush bristles are what HLs used to replace missing rods.

In the few I have replaced, I took the cap off a tube of silicone dipped the replacement rod in the silicone about an 1/8 inch before putting it in to give it a little adhesive (not adding the silicone to the lighthouse)

Did anyone get the 2011 lighthouse calendar from Current? My friend, Susie, sent me a copy and none of the lights are identified. I know the one light, for February, is North Head, WA. Funny since Susie is from Whidbey Island near Admiralty Head. When I said something to her about Admiralty Head, she asked where that was and when I told her it was the one they took us to, she said they always call that the Fort Casey light.
