Oh I hope Minnesota will choose that design! It's by far the nicest one of the samples anyway...and to have another quarter featuring a lighthouse...YES!

I just found my first Maine quarter the other day!

Does that mean I might get to go to another Quarter Ceremony at a lighthouse? I hope so!

I do like the Snoopy one too.

That would be a fun trip Shirin. Don't forget those of us who were together at the first one.
As much as I like the design I think it lacks what many will see as a necessity - a slogan like "North Star State" or "Land of 10,000 Lakes". Maybe someone could suggest a slogan that helps the lighthouse design to have a better chance of winning.

A very nice design and I hope that it gets lots of support. When the Maine coins were up for scrutiny didn't they have a web site for people to vote on their coin? Seems to me they did.

Let's hope Split Rock wins, but I'm afraid if it goes to a vote, Snoopy may win out. He is rather popular!!!

Hello,

I think the Split Rock design is great! I hope they choose it. By the way, I visited Split Rock on Monday for the annual lighting to commemorate the loss of the Edmund Fitzgerald. (Unfortunately the sky was quite cloudy, and we did not get to see the moon, which was almost full. At least it wasn't raining/snowing like it did today.)

There are already statues of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy, and Linus on display around St. Paul to honor the memory of Charles Schultz.

I love Snoopy, but Split Rock is the best design!

OOOh! I love that design - here's hoping!!!! laugh

Marblehead, Mass. Lighthouse, you will always have a very special place in our hearts. ....We've made the journey as far south as New Jersey, as far north as Canada. Over 100 lighthouses visited.... and so many more to go.

Boy, that is a real gem. I hope they pick it, and if they don't my next vote is for Snoopy.
