Stephanie,

Posting pictures is not that difficult. John has made space available at lighthousekeepers.com for members to upload pictures to be shared with forum readers. Go to this link for directions on how to upload and a link to the instruction page.

Here are a couple of links to old threads that talk about posting images:
link one
link two

When you upload a picture to lighthousekeepers I will get a message telling me you have done so. If you can't get it done, email them to me and I will put them into your post.

One thing to remember before uploading is to resize your picture so it is 450 pixels on its longest dimension. Use jpeg so the image is compressed and doesn't take an hour to load for those of us with dial-up connections. If you scan a pic, I think John says 72-75 dpi will be more than good enough for what can be seen on a computer monitor.

OH MAN! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!! It happened to me and I don't believe it! eek

When my luck runs bad, it runs really bad, as many of you know from my experience with my van this past week. However today it was good, really really GOOD! laugh

Ok here's the story: This morning Nancy Younger was at Robert Moore's here in Mobile form 10 til 12 and as stated earlier I WON THE GOLD! Then this afternoon from 4 til 6, she was at Kay Dee's Hallmark in Pensacola, FL. Being that it is only an hour away and I have sooooo many pieces to be signed, I decided to drive on over there and do it again. And DO IT AGAIN is what I did!!! eek eek Yes that's right I won TWO GOLD's in one day! laugh

Note that I bought myself a Florida Lotto ticket on the way home! Hope my luck stays with me till after the drawing tonight!

Way to go Stephanie a set of twins eek ! Remember to post a pic of how you display them. Did you get yours or are they on a ship in San Diego harbor too? I'm glad your van made it home OK with all that gold adding to weight of your signed pieces! Great news.

Stephanie, you should go right out and get some books by Mark Twain and use the gold pieces for bookends. Check the thrift stores, libraries and used book stores and get old looking ones to add character. And, oh yes, don't forget to read them too!

One of my fondest memories is of the times when my Dad read to me of the adventures of Huck Finn. smile

Mombo that's a great idea! cool

It just so happens that I have a 4 book set of Mark Twain, that was handed down to me by my Grandmother. The books are a dark green hard cover (and get this) with Gold lettering! The copyright date on these books is 1917 by Mark Twain Company, printed by Collier.

I think I'll move these book off the book case where they are collecting dust and move them to the qurio with my two new GOLD HL's. Thanks for the idea! wink

Steph, you may also want to check the way you are typing the ending three letters. I noticed that the problem I was that my computer automaticly names the files .JPG I was typing the files as .jpg on the post - since the forum is very capital sensitive it wasn't working. Check the names of your imagines - it may be something as simple as that. Hope that helps!

Stephanie,

You are probably the only person on the forums that can display Mark Twain books in between the two (Count them guys and gals, TWO!) Gold Mark Twain towers. Great photo and what a wonderful way to display your GOLD! Fantastic!

Steph, I have to say - I LOVE your face in the second picture. It almost seems like it should have a caption on it that says. . .

Gas to Event - $27.01
Film for Camera - $4.35
Anclote Key Relite the Lite Shirt - $15.00
Harbour Light for Gold Certificate - $60.00
Stephanie's expression when she wins her SECOND Gold HL – PRICELESS!!!

The idea with the Mark Twain books really worked out well! smile Nice display!

I'd wish you luck on winning the gold at the HL Regional Event, but I'd like to win something also! LOL :p Good luck anyways - you deserve it!

I 've been trying to think who that could be and can only take a wild guess! Was it Paul's wife. Seems I saw somewhere on the forums where they donated it to a raffle if I'm right. As a matter of fact I think I am right as I recently bought some raffle tickets.

Stephanie, I don't know how I missed this topic? Congratulations! But you've always been pretty lucky - you've done well on the LI Chapter Raffles! You have to be in it to win it! Couldn't have happened to a nicer person. Oh there's Dave? Like I said "it couldn't have happened to a nicer person!" Enjoy the Twins!

Carolyn McBee won two, but did not accept the second one so that another person could be added to the winner's circle.

Well John, I have to admit that he finally came forward. A little on the sheepish side, but he did admit that he and his wife have two.

I think that's great Randy. I'm sure they make great bookends, and I'm sure they look great wherever you have them displayed.
