Anyone ot there in HL land going to this regional meeting in Raleigh? Le us hear from you.
I received a newsletter from a dealer in Beaufort, NC (Scuttlebutt) who is one of the dealers who is sponsoring the event. They also say in the same HL news that they have extra Oak Island's for sale. (252-728-7765)
SWA has a special going from TPA to RDU. It makes attending tempting. But, I'd get too much flack from "Mombo" if I just went for the day. Derith

Hi Derith... Jackie and I will definitely be there. It's about a 2 hour trek for us, so we will be driving. I'm not sure if we will be arriving on Saturday and spending the night, or just driving up on Sunday. If others are arriving on Saturday, I may get the name of the hotel most will be staying at and come up then. Tim - Keeping the flame lit...

Would any fellow wackos attending this regional event be willing to try and pick up two event buttons for a fellow wacko who is landlocked in Denver? I will reimburse postage or make donation to your favorite LH group. It is sad times in our region as we don't have a regional event happening.

Renee and I will be there,it will also give me a chance to see one of my lovely sisters. Tim, I understand they are having it at the hotel that is directly across from the Crabtree Valley Mall. Its a little too rich for us,but we`ll see what works out.

Thanks,

I would love to have (2) buttons from this regional event, and will reimburse shipping costs and make a donation to your cause, so if there any lighthouse lovers going, please keep this Great Lakes Lighthouse collector in mind. EMAIL ME! Have a grand time, and keep on collecting!

Looking for help from any fellow wackos attending this event. I would dearly love at least one but preferably 2 buttons from this regional. I would gladly make a donation to your favorite charity in return for the buttons. Please let me know.

I'm not sure if I'll be attending.....if I do I'll try to pick up a couple of extra buttons, that is, if my luck was as good as it was at the recent Chesapeake-Event. I'll know within a couple of days whether I can make it or not. If so, I only live about an hour and a half from Raleigh. I would love to go to another one....but, I may have a scheduling conflict.

Thanks Torchbearer for noting the error on the home page.
Once again, my calendar skills, or lack thereof, has gotten me in trouble.
The Raleigh Regional will be on SUNDAY, October 8, (not Saturday).

Well, got the camera filled with fresh batteries and the car filled with gas. I have an appointed to take some pre-regional photos of those dealers involved as well as getting everything set up. I will get those posted either Monday or Tuesday. Really looking forward to it and hopefully will meet some other Forumites there! Only bad thing is, Jackie has come down with a very bad cold and I'm not sure she will be able to make it. It figures! Tim - Keeping the flame lit...

Just stepped in the house from the regional in Raleigh and must say, I had a wonderful time. My poor wife Jackie would have had a better time if she were feeling better. She took advantage of staying in the hotel room and the room service that was offered. She did make an appearance the last 15 minutes of the event. Being my first regional, I wasn't sure what to expect. HL didn't let me down as they did a wonderful job making the event a hit. Bill and Nancy were in true form as usual. Many collectors arrived with their lighthouses in hand ready for Bill to break out that Sharpie. Even Nancy got into the spirit of signing various different items. There were snacks of cheese, crackers, fruit and drinks on tables awaiting the 200 or so (evangelistically speaking) collectors. There were many prizes to be won through lighthouse bingo along with drawings. It was again a pleasure seeing Terry Barfield and his lovely wife. Terry and I were the only "certified" Wackos present. I must say however, and though I can't prove it, I really believe Terry and his wife had insider information while they were playing bingo. They managed to win at least 4 different prizes. Congrats!!! Personally, the best part of the event was meeting new friends and just chatting. Jackie and I met some wonderful people, and enjoyed dinner afterwards with a lovely couple. If you have never attended an event, I urge each one of you to do so. I will post pictures tomorrow evening. Tim - Keeping the flame lit...

Great pics, Tim. Thanks for sharing. Noticed the ever present Cape Cod snacks and Bill's brother Harold (can't remember if he is a younger Younger or an older Younger). Did you manage to take home any of the prizes, or did the Barfields snag them all?

Tim did win a prize but was generous enough to decline and let someone else have a chance to win. Great job on the photos Tim. Renee wanted me to tell you one thing," the name is Renee".LOL As you can tell, we all had a good time. Tim, we hope Jackie is feeling better. TerryBarfield

I enjoyed the pictures very much. I was very impressed with how the regional was run. The reps did a great job. In fact, I was surprised at the number of LLOM, lighthouses, shirts, etc. that were given away as prizes. I'm always amazed how Bill can sign his name non-stop for two hours plus. Good job Tim.
