A few of us got together and went on a cruise of the harbor then lunch and lighthousing, winding down from the regional.. The Dutchers, Dave H, JJ, and John C joined us for the harbor cruise past all of the Navy ships and all of the harbor sites.. The building in the middle of the picture is where we would later eat Sunday brunch! This is the place we brunched.. after brunch, JJ, Dave H, John C and us all headed to the Point Loma Lights Tom Ham\'s Lighthouse Restaurant They are in the process of putting the old lighthouse back to it's beginnings... getting rid of the almost 4 lane highway around it.. If you move your feet , you can still get an image without the construction.. They are going to rebuild the asst. keeper's house among other things at the lighthouse.. Old Point Loma The Fresnel is covered to protect it from all the dust and dirt.. it almost looks like it is in a cocoon!

Here's JJ moving his feet to get the camera over the top of the fence... I don't know what the name of this plant is but it was all over the top of the point and in full bloom! Of course Sue and I had to drive down to "new" Point Loma for a quick picture before heading to Anthony's on the harbor and meet up with the Toft's and the Cooper's for supper

MOre great pictures Paul. I can't wait to see the captions on these if you put them up. Old Point Loma (if I'm correct) looks like a new light under construction. Seems to be in great shape. Bert

Paul,
Great pictures as per usual.
We had dinner at Tom Ham's Reataurant on Monday 7-21. We were staying at the Hilton just down the road and found it by accident.
It's actually an active Aid To Navigation, and the food's pretty good also. We took a daughter of a friend to dinner there and she liked it so much she's going to come back with her friends.

TuesdayWe went to Wild Animal Park today... It was very hot there, since is located inland in the desert away from the coastline... I could get used to the flowers blooming everywhere and all of the time.. The flowers there were almost as interesting as the animals.. Even though it was very hot today, this was a very cool sight!! I really like the way the light shown on the two blossums in the upper right! This has to be a "Variation" animal!!

Baby was trying to catch Mom for an afternoon snack... This little guy wasn't camera shy at all.. Now here's a couple of big-time horny animals! They must have been painted from front to back and the painter was getting tired towards the end! The Pelican appeared to be conducting a class on fish catching to the ducks!!
