I'm coming across pieces signed by other's besides the YOUNGERS! For example: "Harry Hine"
You know, I've been collecting for about 10 years now, and never come across this before.
What do you veteran collectors think of this?

by the way, HAPPY VERERAN'S DAY!

Ever since the sale of Harbour Lights to Don Devine, Bill has been cutting back on signing events and Harry has started doing a few each year.

Harry has done the Alpena Lighthouse Festival for the past 2 years for example. Harry also has done a couple of Regionals and the 2005 Reunion, so you will come across his signature even more in the future.

Rusty,

I may be reading your question wrong, but from the way you made the statement above. I wonder if you know who Harry Hine is?

Were you asking about the name "Harry Hine" or just the fact that there was another name other than Bill, Nancy or Kim?

Well, you didn't read it wrong,,, I was asking both!
Have I heard correctly, that Harry Hine is a designer or artist of HL ?
(i know i'm going to feel dumb, if his name is on a bunch of the little white cards)
And Paul, answered the other part!
I just feel this is big nostalgic turn over,,,
and wonder of your feelings and thoughts on this?
Have you guys spoke about this before?

Not much conversation about Harry as a signer, Rusty. Maybe comments about him being at a particular signing event.

In the days when there were trade shows open to the public -- like Rosemont IL, Harry would be working the booth. He is married to Tori-Dawn Younger, one of Bill and Nancy's 3 daughters.

Harry is son of John Hine, creator of the David Winter line of mythical British cottages and such. Harry designs the pieces on paper and works with independent sculptors who make the wax models from his drawings and specs.

He oversees coordination of production with the factories in China and travels there a few times a year to check on quality and to meet with the people who actually cast, paint and package the cherished Lighthouses.

Since the sale of Harbour Lights to Lighthouse Marketing, Inc. aka Don Devine, Harry has been on the staff of Harbour Lights. He works from the San Diego area while HL is HQ'd in West Kennebunk ME.

In the old days, a signed piece might have had some additional secondary market value. However, with few exceptions, Bill would sign anything you put in front of him.

Think of Bill as the CEO of the company (pre 2006) who helped make decisions on which ones to sculpt. Harry has been the real 'artist' since at least the late 1990's.

Harry did very little signings before 2006.
But there was one pre-signed Limited Edition before 2006 that Harry and Kim signed with out any being signed by Bill.
Does anyone remember this piece?

Hint:
Some also were signed by Tori Dawn and this lighthouse was not available to everyone.

Correct:
The 519 Point Fermin had either a white, yellow or Red boat while the 528 Point Fermin had a brown one.

One last piece of Trivia on Harry's Signings.
He signed H H on the HL519. Didn't know if that was because of the limited room or is that how he always signs them? Anyone that has a larger LE signed by Harry is it signed HH or Something else?

He signed a lot for me in 2008. He signed them - Harry Hine 2008. I really enjoyed just asking him questions about Harbour Lights and hearing some of his personal stories about HL. You could tell he really enjoys it.
