Ken underwent a procedure to have a stent inserted near the heart yesterday as an outpatient. He's back home and sounds groggy, but the Doc says he can go back to working a few hours a day on Monday if he feels like it.

"Better than a triple by-pass" to paraphrase Ken.

Take care, my friend.

Ken,

All I can say is been there- done that. You'll feel fine in a couple of days.

Now that triple bypass takes a little bit longer-although they do get you out of the hospital in 4 days or so. You will be asking for the number on the liscense plate of that truck, though

Take it easy over the weekend and you'll be amazed at how much better you'll feel on Monday.

Ken,

The hospital folks require that a patient has to stay in the hospital about seven days after a quadruple by-pass. Take it from one who knows.

The advice is good. JUST TAKE IT EASY AND DON’T TRY TO DO TOO MUCH TOO SOON.

And I'm still looking for that dang truck.

It just never ceases to amaze me to what lengths Ken will go to justify a couple days off work . . . .

Take it easy, Ken, and do what the doc says. Look forward to seeing you sometime soon.

Just had an email conversation with Ken, and he asked me to share with everyone the following:

Quote:
DR said surgery went very well (added 1 stent to 80% blocked artery), other 2 stents, from Feb 02, looked very good. Did use medicated one this time, first 2 are not. There is still one other blockage, about 50%, and we will just watch it he said, no surgery for now.

I am feeling better every day and still plan to do the Hot Chocolate, Cookies and You NELL outing in Jan. Also definitely still plan to go to reunion as I plan to be all better by then.

I really appreciate all the kind forum posts, thoughts and prayers.
He also needs to work on his blood pressure, sees the doc again in mid-January.

I talked to Ken by phone yesterday - he was back at work -- doing limited hours.

Sounded good and said he was doing good. He appreciates all the good wishes and thoughts.

Ken,

It is good to hear that you are doing well. So you need to work on your blood pressure according to the doctor huh....I guess you better take tax season off this year. Maybe a cruise to warmer climates would help....

Take care and get better.
