I personally would like to see the Anchor Bay line become more popular. The release of the USCG 44 was a step in the right direction. As I previously stated it is a replica of a real boat and by lowering the price, they made it more attractive to more potential buyers. I hope HL comes up with more ABs in the future like the USCG 44. Bob

I agree. I think the line would really take off by replicating real boats. I would bet that a replica of the "Edmund Fitzgerald" would sell out before shipping.

We'll the UPS man brought my AB Lifeboat this afternoon and I can't take my eyes off of it.
Congratulations to the Younger family for all the great work that went into this very special boat.
In the early AB days, the glass box and the ship were packed in separate boxes - with the result a very large box to store and ship.
The last couple of AB's have come with the ship encased in hard form that fits right into the glass display case. About half the space.
I'm curious to see what reaction Sean has gotten if he's showed it to some of the Coasties who are not (yet) collectors.
Accompanying the ship was a color postcard featuring the Anchor Bay model and the story of #44363 on the back. The post card photo does not have the 4 man crew that the AB110S does.

"Most Coasties don't have the free cash to splurge on collecting." I know one Coastie who does...right, Sean? Bob

Surely (I know...don't call me Shirley) some of the collectors already have the new USCG 44 on display in their homes. Lets hear what you think of it. Personally, I can't wait to get mine. Bob

I don't think this is too good - I'm a WackoSINK. SINK is not a choice word in the nautical world.

I think they will buy this one and leave it at that, unless something bigger, better, and white with a red racing stripe comes along. Sean, you wouldn't be refering to that old lady of the lake sitting at Cheboygen would you?

My 44' MLB docked in Bay City today, and it was definately worth the wait. What a great piece. If WOW applies to Anchor Bay, this is it. I have it displayed above my computer, so I see it everytime I look up from the screen.
I would also like to thank Younger & Associates for dedicating this piece in the honor of the members who lost their lives on U.S.C.G. MLB 44363. I can't help but think of the ultimate sacrifice these men made. They lost their lives to save the lives of others.
