Along with the Tender George Cobb arriving by FED EX today came a complete surprise. There in the box from my dealer was also the Lightship Relief. It is almost as detailed as the Tender but not quite. It is the best looking Lightship so far and is a nice addition to my Anchor Bay collection. I get my St Augustine piece just the day before the Southeastern Regional and here's the Relief 3 full months before the Western Regional. Harbour Lights will never cease to amaze me with both there attention to detail and their shipping schedules.

Congradulations. I'm still waiting for mine.

The remnants of the local dealer, who hosted the Youngers just two years ago when they still had two stores, called me Friday evening to tell me of the arrival of the Relief and the St. Augustine piece. The former was still boxed, and I left it there - along with the new St. Augustine piece. In the last year, they have gotten only the Sand Is., AL light, the Christmas piece, and the newer pair I just mentioned. They are the only central Alabama (Birmingham) dealer. The nearest collection shop to my home, only 2 miles from here and once a H-L dealer, is opening a tea room.

The pictures of the Relief made it tempting... but, alas, I am spoiled... all of my A-B ships are in their own cases.

I keep telling you guys if you want a glass case all you have to do is find a dealer that is selling off their Chesapeake, Huron, etc. and buy it. Use the case and get a brass plate made at a trophy shop. Sell the remaining lightship that came with the case on the Forums and all you've done is add about $30-$40 to the cost of your Lightship Relief after you sell the leftover lightship. That's how I have put all my Anchor Bays under glass that came without the glass case. It's so simple even a "Coastie" can figure it out.

Sadly, I bought all of the local A-B's 'under glass' already... slim pick'ins here!
