If you had your choice of an AP from the following new releases, what would yours be? One can always dream that such a thing would happen. In most cases I would think we all would take any one that is given.

Abescon, N.J. - yellow and black tower!
Clarks Point, Mass.
Turkey Point, Md. - tower opens to see steps!
Tucker's Island, N.J.
Bullock Point,R.I.
Boon Island, Me. - with three out buildings!
Wolf Trap, Va.
Cape Romain, S.C.
Battery Point, Ca.

I would choose Bullock Point RI, a gone but not forgotten.

Definitely BULLOCKS POINT, RHODE ISLAND. For those who haven't seen my previous post on the subject. I began plugging for this one on my grand-daughters 2nd birthday, November 18, 1999. Forum members lent their support, but it was a definite long shot. Needless to say that I could hardly contain myself when I saw that HARBOUR LIGHTS (Thank you!) was in fact making it.

I don't have the slightest idea wether or not they saw my post and accepted the challenge to make it. I mentioned in my post that I thought it would definetly be a challenge. Or that they may have thought about it previously or due to someone elses input. But make it they did, and I couldn't be happier. (I believe that HL does listen to us here on the forums).

I never actually saw the light as I was only 24 days old when the Hurricane of 1938 damaged Bullock beyond repair as it was torn down a few years later.

Wether it's an AP or whatever number I get, you can rest assured that it will have a definite place of honor im my collection.

"LIFE IS WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF"

Thanks again HARBOR LIGHTS for making this collectors dream come true!

And sometimes I really qualify as a DREAMER!

Here's a picture of what it looked like, way back when!

If I had a choice of the above and would receive an AP if my wish came true, it would definitely be Bullock's Point.

Bullocks may be gone but the foundation, a.k.a the "rock pile", is still there. I would pass it everytime I took my boat out.

I believe it was Bert's "divine intervention" that brought Bullocks to all our attention. I'm mighty glad he did!

Hummmm,

Well I qguess without to much thought it would have to be Boon Island, ME as I always have and always will support and look forward to more Maine Lighthouses.

Besides, since I will soon be a resident of Maine, I guess I have to choose Boon!

Only 7 more weeks!! YEAH...

Would you have ever believed? I still pinch myself and look it up on the forum, just as a reminder that I'm not dreaming.

It would be a tough choice. It would be a toss up between Battery Point, because its the only west coast light in the bunch, and Cape Romain.

Chuck if you are running out of room I have enough room for that new AP, would be glad to display it for you

Got it and it's signed! Everyone at HL was great and I have absolutely no complaints.
Debbie is great and didn't even pause a second when I asked her "What is an AP anyway?" I explained how new I am to this whole thing and didn't know for sure what one was. It's hard to believe that just last October I ask my daughter's boss, the owner of Collectable Heirloom "People really buy this stuff and you can stay in business?" referring to all the stuff they have made of clay. But the Harbour Lights lighthouses kept drawing me in closer and closer and closer, then the bug bit me and the rest is history as they say.

It's strange but at times I think about doing just such a thing. Then the insanity passes and all becomes right with the world again. I'm hit'n 50 this year so I hope these thing pass or become less frequent.lol

I'd have to select Bullocks Point. Seems to have great detail. Can't wait for this one to come out.

Keep plugging for Bullocks Point! I think it should sell out quickly when people see it. Now I have to wait first for the time-table as to when it will be released. I then play a little game here on the forums. Boon Island was announced as arriving in Colorado today. I figure three, maybe four weeks till it arrives here on the east coast. I'm right about 8 out of 10 times, but have been surprised on occasion. Bullocks it definitely one that I await with loads of anticipation.

Bert, the general rule of thumb is one week from West to East. Everytime Sean used to get his new lights in San Diego, mine would be in one week later. My Boon Island was at my dealers in upstate NY yesterday.

An AP is an Artist Proof of the model. May have some minor differences from the production version. Does not have a box or paperwork with it. Does not have an issue number on it (the "serial number"). Given to the various rep showrooms and such to show to dealers. Not many made, generally in the very low 2 digit range production.

I sure others can shed more light on APs.

A good source when you run across a term you've not heard of:

I'd have to pick Battery Point since I've been lobbying for it and East Brother for years. Albeit I was hoping for Battery Point as a Christmas piece.

Next to the remains of Table Bluff light, Battery Point is the nearest lighthouse to me.

I do have an few AP's with boxes. Most boxes get trashed after the piece is sent to the reps - at least that's what one particular rep told me. True, most AP's don't have boxes because wholesale showrooms are generally small with very little storage space, so the box goes in the garbage!

I am sorry... I would have to add another shameless plug for the Sand Island, AL lighthouse. Oh yeah, they haven't made it yet... better hurry before the Moon and Earth's gravitational field's interaction provides another before/after pair production opportunity.

John

Okay... from the list, Boon Is.

CLARK'S POINT, MA...I like forts to begin with and it's the only new LE with a small footprint (4 inches)...as nice as the others are (Absecon and Boon are 2 of my fave real lights), I simply don't have room in my home for these monsters...
