I see you've discovered some of my 'work in progress' at HL.com. Good detective work and, Thank goodness for my sake, I didn't include the names (thinking that someone might just run across things.

Now I'll have to obfuscate what's there for a week or so. smile

But there is "news" with what you've discovered.

Well this topic wasn't deleted so I goes it's okay to respond with a few comments.

Seven LE's listed as 1/07? Is it safe to assume the there will be seven releases in January '07, or does that mean seven will be announced for release in the first six months of 2007.

Three LE's are listed at $65, and three are listed at $75. Is it safe to assume that will be their retail pricing? If so, that is a fair price. I would have suspected higher retail pricing from the new owners of Harbour Lights.

Let the count down begin!

Good news!

Normal production runs of 2500 and two pieces at only 1500.
Production reflects real demand.
Less stagnant inventory for dealers and a greater possibility of appreciation for collectors.

A win - win situation.

Thanks Tony and Don.

I think you have hit the nail on the head, Dan. I think the smaller edition sizes are essential to the survival of the LE's. I also think that fewr releases of LE's per year will make the LE's more collectable (I don't know how many more this year).. I have been suggesting (since 1997) no more that 10 LE's plus the Society and Christmas pieces, it would come out to about an LE per month..

I know that Tony listened to collectors at Norfolk and Don listened to Tony, plus I think the both listened to collectors at Portland.

There are other changes being made that should also help but some are sort of behind the scenes and will take time for them to have an effect..

Bob, I believe that is 7 for the first half of the year. Still a nice reduction in numbers of introductions.

Another interesting twist is that apparently the society pieces are being revealed way early in the scheme of things.

I am very very pleased about the edition sizes!
I strongly beleive this in the right directly for the Harbour Lights LE's pieces! wink

This is great news despite not currently knowing what lighthouse replicas they are. Time will tell....

So there's a total of 9 LE's for the first half of the year. I'm including the 2 society pieces.

My guess is there will be 9 more for the second half of the year. 6 lighthouses, 1 Anchor bay, and 2 event pieces.

If theres a CF pieces the total for the year will be 19. Sounds like a fair number for both old and new HL fans. applaud

I think Mobile Point, AL is going to be the first one to retire. There is something special with this light that is going to make it a wow and surprise everyone. It inherited an idea from the ELL that was modified to enhance a piece of history that can be appreciated by both northerners and southerners. I would not be surprised if it retired in a few months.
Think brick.
Good job on this one HL.

There is no wow factor for me in the Mobile Point,AL piece, I find it kind of tacky, giftware like.
I don't think I will be buying any of the new additions this time.

I like the Mobile Point. The choice of flags is a great option.

Is this the actual new list?

Or an effort to try to guess it?

Just wondering

The only Problem I have with the choice of flags is they are using a Confederate Naval Ensign. The Battle Flag was Square. A more correct choice would be the Second National or Stainless Banner.

Other than that a nice little collection of new lights.

groupwave BTW this is Post 1000 for the old Weasel. groupwave

The posting by "TheLightkeeper" is a copy of the list posted on Cape Annie's web site by owner Jim Awrey. This is a Harbour Lights dealer, so yes the list is official.

Looks like I will have to clear a spot for the 2 new Michigan pieces. Maybe I can set one next to each AB Mackinaw model I have.

BeaconBob,

Jim is a dealer and received the okay to post the list on his web site from the "Powers that Be." Gather he knew what they were a few days prior to receiving the okay and chose to keep it quiet until he got the official go-ahead. Don't know that I could have done the same, but then, I'm a collector, not a dealer

Sandy

P.S. Were you the person who was going to try to see Chapel Hill Rear Range Light? Did you?

Thanks Sandy!
Yep...that was me but I have decided to wait just a bit until the weather is alittle nicer although...it has been pretty darn warm here in NJ as of late! Plus with the privacy thing going on there...I totally respect that and I'm not sure how to address it without getting anyones feathers in a ruffle.
I wonder if they would be willing to talk to someone if someone just knocked on the door and asked for a quick picture?
Then there is the take pictures through the trees without leaves angle to consider with a good telephoto lens! I struggle with the ethics thing and what the right approach should be.

Looks like a great selection of LE's.
Of course I'm always happy to see Michigan Lights vhappy and will have to get those two.
Mobile Point looks pretty cool also, and of course I must keep my set of Fresnels complete.
So that looks like a minimum of 4 new HL's eek Now where to find the room and $$

Received the new Lighthouse Depot Catalog today with pictures of the new releases. I had missed this thread before. I must have Mobile. Told my husband he could buy it as my birthday present, and would be okay to be a belated gift!

And of course being a Southern girl, the Confederate flag will have to fly. smile

Regards and enjoy the new year

Of the ones announced to be released, I am partial to buying the Alabama piece, the Isle of Shoals, NH, and of course the Fresnel Lens! A little ease on the "ole" wallet this go around....

Still looking for another MAINE piece... maybe the second half of the year.....

Leaves me more money for older LE pieces that I am looking for.

I guess I better find a new dealer soon. The only one left in my area is closed for the winter and some might not be available by the time she opens back up.
