My dealer just called to say the new fresnel is in (the $150+ one). Has anyone seen this? Is it really that wonderful?

Hi Dixie, ... I haven't seen it in person yet, but it better be really nice for the price they are asking for it. I have all the other lenses and will buy this one too. I just can't figure why this one had to cost that much more than the other issued lenses. A couple of brass doors shouldn't drive the price up that much.

Can we get a reply from someone who already has this new lens?

Picked mine up on Friday. Behind those brass doors you will find a 1/3 round reflector for the light,also in brass, which I think is a nice touch. Some of the metal work is painted in a hard to describe color including the metal frame between the lens elements which ,although may be accurate(?), I do not care for. The paint also makes these parts look like plastic and some of them may be(?).This lens comes with an adapter and the switch has been moved from the bottom to the side of the base so you do not need to pick this one up to turn it on or off. Some very nice details but not sure yet I would call it a "WOW". All in all a nice piece.

I saw this at my local dealers this week. I have all the other lens pieces and really like them, but this one just dosn't do it , especially for the much higher price. I'll wait for the next one.
